Great Pic's sniper. That looks like a great trip. How thick was the ice? How big is the lake you were on? It appears a good time was had by all.

I'm envyous and great pics! I like the sunset over the lake and the one of Frosty The Bud Beer Man :p Looks like you guys had a great time. What were the temps?
Tx guys! :)
Temps were actually quite warm, with most days around 20F, although we did have one brief cold snap where it dropped to -15F for a couple days.
There was about 3-1/2 feet of ice in most places; which is about standard for that time of year. By the end of March it should be over 5 feet in a lot of places.
It's often difficult to tell, but we actually fished 4 different lakes, all on the same river chain. The big lake where the cabin is, is pretty funky shaped, but would be over 10 miles long, and a couple wide. The Lake with the sunset is quite circular, and just over a mile dia. Another is about 4 miles long by 3/4 mile wide, and the last about a mile dia, like the second.
A few more shots:
We did some cruisin, down some old logging trails, trying to get into a couple of un-touched lakes:

It was tough going, as in places we were plowing snow over the top of our machines:

More nice pics and Vid. That looks like so much fun.
Whats top speed reached on the flat lake with that BPR 600?:p
It is a completely stock machine, so on a good hardpacked trail, it'll do about 110 mph with my buddy on it. smaller people could squeek out a little more. My xc500 tops at about 104 with me on it. When we had all that fresh snow, and were breaking trails across a virgin lake, we were both hard pressed to break 80mph.
here's a couple more...
