    Getting kids BOBs together

I decided to get the three kids (25, 28, 30) things to go into a BOB for each of their family. Sofar, just starting with the basics, fire starting kits, shaved AL, emergency Mylar blankets, P51( or what ever they are called) can openers, batteries, flashlights, etc.

We sat down yesterday and started on our family Christmas gift list. We're doing something similar, but since my younger son and his wife who is a nurse already have their BOBs and GHBs, we're getting them a starter emergency food storage kit. Not sure which one, but looking at some on ES to order.

Did another forced march with an asston of weight, HH6 didnt accompany me this time though.

25984 steps, which equals out to 12,5 miles for me.

I would guess it comes from a soldier thing, but even myself, when I am in hunting, I count my steps almost subconsciously. When the map/chart comes out, I know I went 400 paces down that ridgeline, and then 779 going around that swamp, then 600 across that clearing... add in a few directions, and I know where I am and where I need to go. I guess growing up with a map and compass instead of a gps will do that for ya! Sounds like a good hike Stormy... Trudge on, my friend!

Oh, and I am clearing up a huge mess at work, so I can take some holidays and do a little hunting and a little writing.

And... indirectly, I put 1/2 a 5x5 buck into my freezer. my buddy got one yesterday, and half is mine. Will try to get some pics before butchering.

I did that for a long time too, but not in a useful way. I always restarted after an 8 count! Lol

Sadly, I have not much else to contribute. All I've done this past week is take a 4 day vacation and relax.

Built and placed 9 more ground level garden boxes for berries and corn next year. Five more of those, and four 4x8's to go. I'm definitely gonna be busy mixing soil again.

We're also starting to plan our irrigation system since those are the last of the boxes
