Put up another 15 gallons of gas and some canned goods. I finally got what I call a portable garage put together. It's a aluminum frame and a nylon or some type material of cover. It's 12x20' and should do a good job for what I'm using it for. Tractor storage and some equipment and lumber. My step dad got this several years ago and decided not to use it. I've had it for over a year and I'm just now gettin it put up.

Loaded up 100 rds .30-06 for the Garands. Did some accuracy comparisons last week on several brands of .22LR in my 10/22. Found Blazer and CCI minimags all shot 1.25" groups at 50 yds. Federal Gold Match was 3/4", Federal Lightning and Win Wildcat were near 2" and Rem Golden Bullets and Thunderbolts were 3" or more. So yesterday when the local discount store stocked their shelves I picked up three 525 rd boxes if Blazers.

Thinking about using a sunken part of the crawlspace where there is 4 ft height as a root cellar to store a bunch if potatoes. Never have done this before but understand you bury them in sawdust or straw to protect from freezing. Any tips?

Here is a page with a lot of great info for storing veggies over the winter.

My dad eats potatoes every single day, no joke. Mom and dad would leave the potatoes in the garden long into the fall, they would just pull the green above-ground plant part of it out once it was dying, and cover the potato mounds with some straw. They also would dig up the carrots, break the greens off, and put them in 5 gallon pails of sand, in the basement on the garage side. However, if you don't get the sand dampness ratio correct, you end up with shriveled or rotten carrots. I'm not sure what the secret is, but this also won't work if you have an indoor cat....
