I was hoping to put one in my shower. Lol. Nah, I am gonna put one inside the garage so when it's open for boy to get bikes out and when wife comes home, I have coverage to see if someone is coming in after her.

Very impressed with the video so far. I've got everything temporarily set up in the safe closet and only managed to get 4 cams up and running today. I'm hoping for 1 a day this week. Back door, and sides of house are next.

Ak, are you setting them up so that at least one camera has visual of each other? As in you can tell if there is just an issue with the camera vs some idiot disabling it?

Still, we here pretty much slide along without issues.
Imagine how well we could get along in person.

Or, we would just think each other is a bunch of assholes

And are you making them obvious or discreet and using hidden angles so that they can't see the camera till it sees them.

Mine are setup discrete, I only have 3 but thats enough for my plot.. Id like to have at least 1 inside... my DVR died a year ago, need to replace it...

I had a 4 channel Zmodo unit, thing worked GREAT for 5 years 24/7, easy to setup- I never did try the remote camera thing but Id like to try with the new unit.

I need get just the unit, all the cameras are already setup..

I'd be interested in the details too.

and by the way, when you call one of those help lines, your first question should always be: "Where are you?" and your first statement following that should be" "I would like to speak to someone in America/Canada, please"

You may have to wait for a bit longer, but there are locals that 'help' too, and by bringing your business home, you are benefitting us all.

I have been doing this for several years!

I've got a few overlapping fields of view. They also have a tampering alarm that once set up will email me. I climbed a ladder and put my hand over the camera while my wife watched from inside. It triggered the alarm, but I don't have the notifier set up yet.

How about a power outage? Do you have a battery backup?

I will. We've got mostly underground utilities so we don't get the usual drunk hits pole = power outage, but we do get occasional brown outs. A buddy has several UPS that are sitting around he already offered me. As far as hiding the cams, most are obscured slightly by the gutter downspouts, and the camera bodies are white with the exception of the front where the cam and illuminator are.
