I will slam on the brakes when I see a throw-a-way grill on the street curb that still has an LPG tank on it! Harvesting, thats what I call it!

Well, I finally purchased our BO land just north of us about 35 miles. Now I need to figure out what I'm gonna do with it and how we want to set it up. Thinking about a simple 2 BR cabin. Also, looking at container homes online. It's backs up to thousands of acres that will be farm land for many many years to come....like forever. We're surrounded by Mormon owned cattle and farm land.

Also, rotated some stock from the medium term pantry and gave to the church.

Picked up some more boxed milk for storage.
Don't wrestle with pigs; you'll get all muddy and the pigs will love it!

It's only 10 acres, is flat and almost square, but very secluded and is surrounding by several other 10 acres tracts on each side. On the rear it backs up to several miles of Mormon cattle land that is undeveloped. I sold another 40 acre tract down the road as it was not as secluded as this one and only 15 miles north of the Gulf. The folks in the area are like minded as we are. It has a small spring on it, so I have already lined up a friend to bring in his equipment to build a small 1 acre pond by some cypress trees and I will stock this pond with fish for sure. The location is good and has a river and some nice lakes nearby. We have deer, turkey, squirrels and birds all around us and crossing the land.

I plan on this place being our hurricane BOL as well because our primary residence is near the Gulf of Mexico, so that's why I'm looking at the container homes to consider.

Willie, if it has a spring you might look into the gpm it can produce and think about using hydro power......

I hope I can find a property that has one when I look into buying

Still, we here pretty much slide along without issues.
Imagine how well we could get along in person.

Or, we would just think each other is a bunch of assholes

James, thanks. We plan on in the next couple of weeks when my friend gets there with his track hoe, to cut a path to where the creek is. Right now, it too thick in that area to walk. Then I'll know what the volume is.

Sounds like a start! I was reading about how they do it on a "mother earth" website. The process is pretty neat but really labor intensive.

I just trained some with the carbine and pistol yesterday. Rapid and accurate fire. Offhand shooting, always fun.

Yesterday I emptied my water supply containers (8 months old) and used the water on the garden, then refilled them with fresh water and chlorine at 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons. I also added 2.5 gallons of gasoline to storage. I also did a little rotation of the canned goods.
