How to start a fire with a water bottle

Anyone willing to give this a try? They use a water bottle (clear) to focus the sunlight to start a fire!
It is, of course, obvious that speed, or height of fall, is not in itself injurious ... but a high rate of change of velocity, such as occurs after a 10 story fall onto concrete, is another matter.

I have seen it done, you are using the bottle and water like a lens to focus the sun's rays, sort of like a magnifying glass. However it took a LONG time and the tinder was very dry. I would hope to have a better source of fire, but it is something that can be done.

I have done it.. but like said... takes time. shitloads of time.... Anyone who fried ants as a kid with a magnifying glass, would be on board...
Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!
Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

    Cat's are food... not friends!

If you're going to fight, then fight like you're the third monkey on the ramp into Noah's arc... and brother, it's starting to rain.

I once saw on Dual Survival an episode where one of them took a plastic snadwich baggie they found and used urine the same way, as a lens to focus the sunlight. Just sayin'.
