Yup, back then the common everyday citizen was feared. Today that "elected official" in OUR WHITE HOUSE has succeeded in one thing. Up-armoring Joe Citizen more than ever before, now you know he had to foresee this in his stupid ways right? So what's the purpose? Arm us to the gills to take them away or to cause a war within our borders? I mean you can throw all the conspiracy theories in there all you want, but big picture here, stand back and look at it. If I haven't said it before, I'll say it now. The late great Southern comedian Jerry Clower (WW II Naval veteran, BTW, CV-20 USS Bennington) said it all long ago, to the effect of "The US will never fall from with out, but from within." He had a lot more faith in the America of his time. Him having passed away in 1998, we have been sorely short of a non-cussing, Will Rogers-class observational comedian of his like.
As for the RINOs... as with most of the elite, WSHTF, look to see them outa the country or hid away in private estates. Palaces to their own egos. As for some mass casualty event... If it served the regime, this regime would not hesitate to use WMDs on American citizens, IMO.
IMO a lot of the RINOS are wannbes. They think they are connected, but are little more than useful idiots to the Elite. Doing thir job pretty well yes, but as we've seen before, they can get tossed to the side real quick if it serves a purpose.

I stayed up all night to see where the sun went. Then it dawned on me.
Having "visited" many a foreign country, I have have seen how the third world lives and how it's constructed, from one extreme to the other, from various stages of progression and digression as well. Guess we'll need to keep tabs on all these elected officials and there whereabouts. That way we'll know which little barns to raid first! As they "start" to spread organized chaos maybe we'll go see what they got in the pantry, besides.........WE paid for it. Would love to see their faces when they got tucked in and found the cupboard was bare.......TBSS. Well it sounds good anyway..
