    Klr 650

As winter drags on I find myself longing more and more for riding weather, and wishing this year was the year I'd finally be picking this bike up. Unfortunately, it is not, but I figured I'd share part of its appeal to me with you... Its luggage capability!

I found the mod, in particular, to be really cool.

A good friend of mine, his brother, and dad all had KLRs. They loved them. Rode most every weekend. The dad even shipped his to Alaska and spent 3 weeks riding back country one year.

The KLR has been on my wish list for years. It's road/trail capable and the power plant is all but bullet proof. I'm assuming you've seen the diesel version?

That... looks pretty damn cool! I prefer a Jeep Cherokee myself, but a 2 wheeler may just win the game in the end, you never know! And in the end, Id rather have it and not need it... than to need it and not have it!

From everything I've read they are very capable, very forgiving bikes, and much better suited to my preferred roads and AO.

That diesel would be nice. The military variant will carry you almost 400 miles on one tank of gas, at least iirc. Way, way better than the 110 miles my 400 cc Honda CM carries me now.

There's something to be said for a good 4x4 too, EB. Especially when you factor in dependents.

Wonder what that diesel is like starting when it is cold...

Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!

You know, I hadn't given that any thought at all. I've pretty much been a fair weather rider up to now.

I have a wr250f I was planning on making into a enduro/camping bike. I love it but I'm going to sell it and step up to a dual sport 450 or bigger.

    Imagine kickstarting a diesel...
