    Son is headed to MEPS

We just dropped him off with the recruiter and he is on the way to Houston to spend the night at the hotel. Then swears in tomorrow to the U.S. Army as a Military Police. Off to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri after that. No more kids at home starting today. Wow what a change.

Ho-ho......OK, slow down you two. Now just cause you dropped him off at the recruiter doesn't mean he won't be bangin on the door in the morning screaming "Mr. Wizard. I don't want to be in the Army" OK showing my age again.......Seriously. I'm proud of the young man and happy and will be the worried parent right along with you two. Congrats and please keep us posted on "our" new recruit!

    Hoo-Yah!

Hey, think about the veterans support group you have here. Granted they might be a sorry lot of curmudgeons, not me of course. There is always plenty of useless comments, I mean great advice, same thing. We are all here to give worthless advice............ok speak for myself. Yeeah, quit while you're behind........dumbass.

That North Dakota trip really did a number on me. It's a military thing... you understand, I wish you all could have been there to see the things that I saw. Of course some of it was personal, but all of it was brothers and sisters of the service whom I never knew, respected. I hoped I did worthy job in their eyes. But I know I could never hold a candle to them.......but I'll bear the torch. It was just what I remember America being when I was I kid and It was still there and it followed me all the way home.

Then reading again about your young son joining the ranks just makes me that much more proud to be an American. So, LadyHK and I are here for you guys when ever you are in need.

I still keep in contact with some of my boys that are still in and this "Sea Daddy" worries every day for their sorry asses. So what's one more?

Good old Ft. Lost in the Woods as we always called it. Took my Hvy. Equip. school ( bulldozer ) there in 1968. Wasn't a bad place back then.

Yeah, I had never been there, but heard the name often. They didn't have apaches there, so I could not go.

    Its fine to have one,
Its fine to be proud of it,
But please dont whip it out in public and start waving it around,
And PLEASE dont try to force it down my children's throats.
