*** After Action Report *** - 1/23/18 AK tsunami bug out

love reading after action reports of real life experiences from prepared preppers - their bug out organization plans - what worked - what didn't - changes needed to made - additional prep supplies required ....

the following AAR pertains to the tsunami warning for Kodiak Island Alaska that occurred on January 23rd following the 8.0 earth shaker that was almost dead center to that island ....

Good, timely, relatively inexpensive Lessons Learned, to be sure.

I would point out that the external battery packs they mention ALSO need charging. The good ones have multiple sockets for more than one device. The best ones have smart switches in them that allow the pack and the phone's battery to be charged at the same time.

There are hand driven dynamo kits that will charge independent of the grid. The better ones come equipped with all the male and female tips needed to charge several different battery formats.

If the quakes take out the cell towers, it might be wondered at the utility of having a disassembled micro-tower at the gathering site, ready to put together and get comms back up. I've also wondered at the possibility of a dongle to plug into a cellphone to turn it into a low power ham radio...if such things exist.

The specific event listed... A tsunami could occur in Chi if Mayor Never-let-a-crisis-go-to-waste-Machiavelli-wannabe ever went onto Lake Michigan and fell off of his gigantic ego. Probably pop New Madrid, too...
