This truck had a some kind of 2 way radio in it. The antenna mount is on the right hand side. Need to figure out what kind of radio to put back in it. All the wiring is there.

Helo you need a dual band and a HF mobile for the ham bands. Plus you got plenty real estate for the antennas.

Got my title in the mail today from the seller. So tomorrow morning I will be getting it registered and inspected. Hope it goes easy.

Got it registered. Taxes where about 400 and some change. Tags cost 320 a year to register it as a normal vehicle. 5 bucks a year to register as former military, but there are so many restrictions. And 160 a year to register it as a farm vehicle. Again restrictions. I just went ahead and registered it so I can legally use it how ever I want. Not to find out if I need to get it inspected. Still not sure about that.

Process was simple, just brought the title and bill of sale in with proof of insurance and got my plates in about 10 minutes.

Oh and for a heads up, getting one of these in the future may prove difficult. The epa has made the government liquidation website shut down all sales of military trucks and generators. Not sure if it permanent or not. They are saying future trucks will have to have the engine ripped out to be sold. Looks like the prices of these are about to go up.

Im pretty sure if there is going to be a restriction, it will be with GovLiq and NOT with any that are already in circulation.

Im pissed the HMMWVs are being chopped and not sold... BUT... after driving them for 15 years, Id put my old K5 diesel Blazer up against one for 1) Off road ability and 2) safety.

HMMWV are... pretty much, a death trap.

But Id still drive one like I stole it... :-)
