Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!
Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

If you're going to fight, then fight like you're the third monkey on the ramp into Noah's arc... and brother, it's starting to rain.

    Hey folks!

Heading out again for a bit...

Leaving tomorrow for my annual May fishing trip but it is being cut short by work. Have to be home Sat. night to Fly to Mexico City for meetings all week.

Just for fun, here is an except from the info that they give us prior to the trip:

    Security guidelines:
The US Department of State issues travel warnings to describe long term, protracted conditions that make a country dangerous. The most current warning pertaining to Mexico can be found at this link travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_4755.html

As with all major cities throughout the world, there are potential hazards / risks when visiting and the following tips will help ensure a problem free visit:

    • If you require to change currency, it is best to do so before you leave your home country. There are change kiosks inside the Mexico City airport. However, there have been reports of people being assaulted in or just outside the airport after changing currency.
    • Dress casually and do not flaunt expensive clothing, jewellery, electronic goods etc.
    • It is best not to wear or carry expensive jewellery at all.
    • Keep your bags with you at all times. Do not let anyone, other than Mikaol carry your bag for you.
    • Carry a minimal amount of cash with you and try and bring only one credit card
    • Do not do anything that attracts attention. Maintain a low profile.
    • Refrain from handing out your business card / contact details to anyone other than known business acquaintances.
    • If you need to take a taxi from hotel (eg to go to a restaurant) then have the hotel arrange the taxi for you. Similarly, if you are requiring a taxi to return to the hotel, ask the restaurant to arrange a taxi for you. Avoid flagging taxis in the street as there have been reports of people being robbed while traveling in taxis
    • If your taxi driver offers to take you to a bar or anywhere else other than the intended destination, DECLINE.
    • The hotel rooms are normally equipped with a safe – use it or deposit your valuables with the front desk. Do NOT leave valuables (money, passport etc) lying in your room unless locked in safe.
    • Do not leave your laptop or any other valuables lying unattended in any restaurant (including hotel restaurant) or even in a parked car as there have been reported cases of theft.
    • To avoid any risk of ‘phishing’, avoid logging onto personal bank account / credit card accounts while in hotel.
    • All foreign visitors are required by law to have their passport / visitor visa card on their person at all times.
    • If possible, try to avoid checking in luggage (time saver) and if you do check luggage, do not place valuable items in checked luggage
    • If you do find yourself in an ‘assault / robbery’ situation, do NOT make any resistance whatsoever and avoid making eye contact.
    o Important contact information:
     US Embassy (Mex City) – 5080 2000
     UK Embassy (Mex City) – 1670 3200
    • Do not drink tap water. Drink only ‘bottled’ water. The hotel provides bottled water in your room and bottles are available in BFSA

woohoo, gonna be a fun week.

My wife almost shit when she read this. lol

Peacock Bass? Or are you doing those cross river fish on the Rio Grande? I hear they only swim one way and you can snag'em with a treble hook. They have a catch and release law though.........
Be safe.............the night is your friend.

All work and no play for this trip sadly. Although there is running water directly outside of our facility... unfortunately it is an open sewer drain.
