    Welcome back M B!

Dug the rest of our taters today. Got 2.5(5 5gallon buckets) Bushels. We had aleady dug close to another bushel over the
Summer. Also got half a gallon on red serrano peppers and put them in the oven to dry.
After that I plowed part of the garden so I can get a cover crop started.

I can't really call this 'what I did to prep' but I'm in the center of the universe for a few weeks. Now, I'm pretty well rounded and understand the Jenga effect that a mass scenario provides... One building block goes awry and the whole system collapses... But I tend to look at it from a local, or even regional, perspective.

Visiting toronto and seeing the vast network that is needed to keep it, and by extension much of the country, running is awe inspiring. The sheer logistics of the city alone: communication, transportation, logistics, distribution. If toronto falls so does canada. The time and expense to put the building blocks back together here would undoubtably strain and delay putting them together everywhere else.

Again, this isn't really all that new to me, and I have always placed contingencies in place that would help should a national tragedy happen... But even with identifying those scenarios, understanding the scale that those scenarios present is mind boggling.

After this trip I realized that I may be prepared, but I will never be prepared enough.

    And so my journey continues...

put meat and veggies into the freezer and into cold storage.
Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!
Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

Doing fall cleaning and seeing about either re-purposing things, or selling or bartering them off via craigslist or FB trade forums.

    Its fine to have one,
Its fine to be proud of it,
But please dont whip it out in public and start waving it around,
And PLEASE dont try to force it down my children's throats.
