We have no critters other than these damn mockingbirds that eat my berries here. First, we have a 6' fence, we have a yard cat who runs off the mice that were eating my maters a few years ago, too bad he just wants to be friends with them (shhh don't tell them) these plants aren't but 6 months to a year or so old. We started with 1 and now have 3. One of them was making fruit when we got it from stark bros. We don't even have rabbits around here, I suspect it's because we have a healthy coyote and hawk population. We have several hundred acres of corn and wheat about 150 yards from our back fence, and a large park with woods behind the homes across the street, so we're surrounded with habitat for critters, but don't see any ever.
Common sense is so rare these days, it should be re-classified as a super power.

put 100+ pounds of bear meat into the freezer!
Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!
Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

Been outta town all week, stopped by a little out of the way antique store yesterday and SCORE. Found a old wheat scythe with cradle. It's all original and in decent shape. Not sure it's something I want to use as is, but will make a great pattern for making my own cradle. I have been looking for one of these for 3-5 years now.

Playing with some 'Barbie Guns' (AR) toys for men finding out what I want/need/like and planting this weekend the final plants.

worst only hit -35C this year... and that was only for about 11 days. but we didn't have much snow this year to insulate the roots... so I am thinking that is what did it!
