Welcome Aboard GeeWhiz! I look forward to your input since you are established as a prepper! Im always looking for new ideas or variations on how to skin a chicken! As I tell my soldiers, theres no such thing as only one way to do things, thinking outside the box is the key to survival!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, and welcome to the colony!

Hi everyone thank you for the warm welcome. Stormfeather krugerrands are available and quite easy to buy it seems www.bidorbuy.co.za (not sure if thats is the right way to post a link:) ) has quite a few for sale and the exchange rate from rand to $ is around ten to 1 so you might find a bargain or two. Ladyhk13 im sure we could send over a leopard or two for sniper t to snack on :) katrina ive heard namibia is a great country to visit , never been though sa is not bad either we have problems like everywhere else but otherwise its ok

Hey y'all, I just checked and saw that I've been a member just 10 days short of a year. This is my first post in all that time. I plan to come by more often and I'll jump in whenever I can add something useful. I've spent a lot of time in the woods, hunting, fishing, camping and goofing off. I'm a maintenance man In North Carolina and would rather be a homesteader. I have the place for that now and my wife and I are slowly making the transition. I look forward to learning a lot here.

New member here and just a few posts in. The community seems by and large pretty decent and rather knowledgeable, so I am sure I will learn a few things here and there... Possibly even share some of my knowledge.

I hail from Winnipeg, Manitoba in the winter wonderland of Canada. I am a non traditional Metis learning the traditions of my forefathers, that being living off the land, self sufficiency, and family reliance. I have been on this journey for close to 8 years now and it only gets better with every cycle of the planet.

Looking over the forums I see that I am somewhat the opposite of many posters (socialist leaning, not a fan of guns, and very Indifferent to religious beliefs) however I also see that we share many ideals... First and foremost the desire to be able to take care of our families and ourselves should the need ever present itself. I appreciate the respectfulness and tone of what I have read thus far and the willingness to allow other opinions to be presented sans flaming. I hope to participate in many spirited discussions.

Welcome, no one on this forum will hammer on you about your beliefs, as long as you respect everyone else, and you seem like you will. Glad to have you over here. I think all of us like guns, but not all of us are religious. I am actually very libertarian, not a conservative or a liberal.

Caveman Survival

I am actually very libertarian,

Ooh... The worst kind... Heheh... I kid.

As for political leanings... I was, for a very long time, a Partisan Liberal and despised the conservatives, and didn't trust the socialist NDP'ers (canadian union party). Over the past few years my stance has softened greatly, so much so that I can't stand any of them. Right, left, and middle... The system works all sides. So I have become staunchly independent, not in a political leaning way, but more-so in a 'I can not count on any form of government to represent me' kind of way, so I leave that task up to myself.

The phrase "it takes all kinds" comes to mind, CS, and it certainly holds true here. Prepping is not cornered by gun owning, conservative, white Christian males, and we strive to maintain an environment comfortable for everyone. It helps that we do have a good group of people. They're largely self moderating, which is good because I'd otherwise feel like I was herding cats, and might eventually condone Sniper-T picking one off here and there to eat...

Ditch is right about any of us trusting our respective governments. I think the majority of us, regardless of our political lean, just want left the hell alone to live our lives without government interruption.

Sometimes I just don't know why you do this to yourself...........knowing you personally, and why you're called "Crotch Rocket" (Meet and greet camping trip) and that you spend many hours at your job holed up in a dark and secluded outpost in front of a computer display of sorts. That might explain your "blue-balled" situation. MTR.......You're going to have to relocate to TN sooner than you think before your testicles explode young man! There's women down here for ya. these things can be taken care of. Sheezs......

I don't think our fore fathers were thinking of "Blue-balled" Americans when they were coming up with the colors for the flag. Except maybe the men who were at Valley Forge.......they had a legitimate excuse, it was fucking cold!

Welcome aboard "Caveman" glad to have another member. I'm sure you'll find yourself at home here, things are a bit loose at times and sometimes sarcastic (guilty) but we have quite the family here. Remember, the only stupid question is the one that was never asked. Feel free to pick our brains and do a data dump as often as possible. Don't worry about poking this 'ol rat in the eye either, I have scars around both of them so you won't change this beautiful mug. Grab a cup of mud and surf the murky waters. I'm sure you'll find yourself welcome with open arms and maybe learn a few things, like I said don't forget to dump a few things along your way if you have knowledge to spew.
Be safe,

His doc should have done what I did...after the 3rd time back in my clinic I stopped warming up the PCN. Worked like a charm. Ice cold shot in the butt hurt like hell and they quit coming back in. Took forever to push that stuff but it was worth it if I could cause them some pain to stop screwing nasty girls!

Oh, btw...welcome caveman. I imagine your socialistic and more liberal views must come from being raised in Canada? We as Americans have never lived under those conditions so it's hard for us to understand not having the freedoms our forefathers fought so hard and we continue to fight for in order to keep. Pls don't take offense if we have discussions here that do not agree with your views.

Meh, it takes a lot to offend me, I'm not too worried.

And as for differences in ideology stemming from where each of us calls home, I can say that many of you confound us northerners just as much as we confuse you guys. I can sum it up where some of our differences stem from however: Americans fought and killed for their country from the British.... Canadians negotiated for theirs. USA's first president was a general.... Canada's first prime minister was a lawyer. The one thing that both countries have in common that allowed them to be strong, prosperous, and leaders in the world is that both were built off blood, sweat and tears... Not of those that were in power or held title, but of those that had no voice and who were suppressed

Sniper-T

Thankfully we have conservatives in right now, so at least some of our basic freedoms are intact. Unfortunately it takes so long to undo the liberal damage, that they can't stay in power long enough to do it, and people forget how fucked up the liberals made things and vote them back in based on the standard bread and circus bullshit!

One cannot change time ; But one can change the time in which they live.
There are those who follow blindly and those who watch the seasons of man's evolution and prepare for it's downfall.
Those in power always fail to look into the shadows for they're blinded by their own assumed brilliance.
For in the shadows is the silent force that will be their undoing. They who live ; speak and thread lightly upon the earth and fellow man.

Time is never of the essence ; For time moves at a steady pace.
It's the art of patience those in the shadows practice that keeps them morally sound and ready.
Even the brightest candle will burn itself out
Those in power realize not that they're standing in a strong cross wind.

Everyday is as the day before
Until shadows speak
And say Never more
For we are strong and you are weak

Without getting into a flaming political debate sniper-t it's these self same REFORMicons that were attempting to overstep their reach into your privacy via Harper, Vic Toews, et al... We won't even touch on abuses of power by Harper, glover, McKay or any of the conservative appointed senators.

The 'libtards' as you affectionately refer to them as we unabashedly crooked, but make no mistake the only change since herr harper's appoinent was the color of the logo on official memorandum.

No change can be instituted until we do away with partisanship and falsely believing that one bests the other. No acronym, coloured placard or or weighted side of partisanship changes who really holds the power... Big corporations passing go and collecting our $200

I'm 53, male, divorced, former Army under RWR, NRA member, gunseller, silver stacker, and about 60% ready to beat feet WTTC.

If candor and plain speaking are not your cuppa tea, then I am not the one you want to talk to. I say my piece and speak my mind as seems fitting.

Socratic inquiry? Not me. I'm man enough to ask when I don't know something, and haven't a need to justify myself by knowing an answer but asking the question like I don't know the answer. Such things are wastes of time and ivory tower ego builders.

As may be noted in the sticky note over thataway, at minimum every week I bring in more PM. Silver, of course... given the boss under whom I labor, gold is way way way OUT the F reach. I have ******** and hope for more.

East of Nye is going to burn WSHTF, a la Mogadishu, but with onramps, offramps, and other screwinesses, and it's this unhumble corespondent's notion not to get singed. Further, the crater that is this place has some high places where someone could do a decent job as a radio relay after all the cell crap crashes.

None of what is coming is going to be easy. it'll be far far less easy unprepared.

I guess it is about time I introduced myself, and give you all a little insight into what makes me tick.

I am a retired Navy E-6 having served on split service. Did a Nam deployment in 1972, I am 62 years young, and plan to be around for a long time. I am a Christian, who believes the bible is the word of God. I believe my oath of enlistment has no expiration date, yes I am a member of Oath Keepers. I believe in the Constitution as it was written by our founding fathers as the law of the land. I believe in personal responsibility. I make no excuses for my actions. I am a conservative. I have been told on more then one occasion I have an attitude problem, I see it more as a liberals perception problem. I do not help others to feel good, I help others to do good. I have no friends here, I have family.

We could might get along real well. Dunno about family here yet, been on less than 72 hours as of this posting, but I see possibilities. Blood family is either dead or worse; PM me for my definition of "worse", and have an empty stomach when I send it.

Such prep as I have underway is aimed at my old butt getting out of this crater and heading in the direction of the Kingdom. If by some miracle I run into people of the same caliber as yourself and the other denizens of this site, I will have counted myself fortunate above riches.

As stated, I live EAST of the Kingdom. Nevada is about to benefit from a malignant old ba$+@rd finally ceasing to contaminate a Senate seat. He claimed to have gotten injured when his exercise equipment broke and injured him, but my own opinion is someone clocked him a good'un.

Sniper might like this , Got a new addition to the feline family. We have a new kitty to help keep Miss Chloe company and to keep the home mouse free. She's taking a bit to warm up to Chip as she is almost 13 years old and the Chipster is only about 1 and gets the "zoomies" aka running around like a nut, he's still very much in "kitten" mode. Since Miss Zephyr passed she's been lonely and over grooming to the point of having made bald spots on herself. So vet and DH decided we should get her a "buddy" and we have a calming collar on her. It's working, the bald spots are coming back and she's starting to warm up to Chip.DH said this morning when he went to feed them , they were eating together without Miss Chloe "stealing" his food and hissing /growling at him. AND this morning , they both were on the bed with me without a fuss, so here's hoping things keep getting better.
