but just for a week.

But... that means I get to make all the meals that she doesn't like.

Liver
Stuffed Heart
Frogs Legs
Chicken hearts
Grilled eel

May even have a buddy over one evening for Martini's and cigars!

I can totally relate. The hubs was gone for a few days last week and we ate and did stuff we wanted too and had a lot of fun!

my wifes leaving me today, heading to a friends for the night. It's not a week, but sometimes it's nice. Get to play with the kids. They're getting really good at the "Name the Blue Gun" game...............

If I served that stuff mine would leave me. She just doesn't like the finer things in life such as cigars and whiskey. Well that is okay at least she tolerates me........... for now. BTW I thought that was what a bug out location was for???????

Sniper, with threats of fine dining like that and after diners treats, you'd have half of us visiting....lol.

I thought I already did have half of you wanting to visit from the Dinner Porn thread.

:)

She also doesn't like brussel sprouts either, so they'll have to be a side dish

Beef Wellington with seared asparagus and a bernaise sauce? Followed by creme brule for desert with a nice port?

Great one Grump. for sure!

Might have to make a couple variations though. Think I'll use a deer tenderloin, I just tossed a few geese (and livers) into the freezer, so I'll make up some fresh Pate. And I've never been a big fan of puff pastry, So I think I'll use a phyllo instead.

yum yum!

Got it!!! Start out with raw oysters and some steamed mussels then a 1/4 slice of freeze chilled iceberg lettuces toped with thousand island with red onions, pickled beet, pepperoncini, cottage cheese all on the side and a whole half of a baguette, Venison grilled with garlic salt and crushed red pepper, sautéed mushrooms with onions and garlic in a butter wine sauce and a toasted peanut butter and grape jelly half sandwich with a short glass of milk of desert. :)

Bison filet - med rare, baked potato w/butter, sour cream, chives, bacon and cheese, salad with several types of lettuce, black olives, cheese, boiled egg, bacon, radish, red onion, turkey, ham, sweet gerkin pickles with home made red raspberry vinegrette dressing (or honey mustard is just as good). No need for a veggie with all that. I'm a pretty simple eater.

todays was, fresh beef, lamb and pork, ground up and mixed by me into giant meatballs (3" dia), which I hollowed, and stuffed with herbs, goat cheese and spinnach. and then baked with a spaghetti squash.

Served with a smoked gouda melted over the meat balls, a light parmsian/fresh veggie maranara over the squash/sauce, and a cabbage salad with a sweet and sour dressing with pine nuts and baked wonton noodles

Dh and I have been talking about finding a place to take cooking classes together. I'm super picky and won't eat a lot of things but thought maybe I could learn to cook with more spices. I will eat bison, beef, chicken, pork and that's about it for meats (deer tenderloin once in a great while). We really need to find some new stuff to cook that isn't crazy fancy. I love Italian so maybe that can be worked on. Cheese is great as long as it isn't stinky!

Sounds great, but a couple problems, I'm really not a big fan of cottage cheese (except in perogies). Might have to toss that with some Mayo, sour creme, and bleu cheese instead.

... and a 'short' glass of milk? definately should read "2-3 Tall glasses of milk"

Think I'll swing by the market on the way home, see how fresh the seafood is.

Keep em coming
