I need help to identify some plants so I thought this might be a good thread. Just put up a picture of it and let everyone help. If you can give the name and if it is edible or medial or poisonous. I have a lot of plants that even with looking at the picture in a book, I still can't tell for sure what it is. Some plants have look a likes that are poisonous.

Here are some I need help on:

The fourth one looks like "Lamb's Ear"

I don't know about it's properties, but it will propagate something nasty if left alone...

I thought it was Lambs ear too but it is very large leaves and I have been watching it since last spring and I have never seen any flowers. It is fuzzy like Lambs ears and it stay
's green all winter even with snow on it.

#I'm pretty positive is red clover, we have it all over our yard too. We DIDN'T have it in our lawn until dh created food plots for the deer and planted it and they pooped in our yard and of course the seed went through their system and BAM! red clover in my lawn. #2 looks like a weed that is all over my garden but I think it's the same one that if you pick it when it is still young it has a very spice/peppery taste that could be good in a salad? I just ate one leaf the other day and didn't die but honestly don't know if it's safe to eat in large quantities. The leaves on mine were smooth and soft, don't know from your pic if yours are or if they are when your plant is still small.
#3 I think is chickweed.
Lambs Ear will get HUGE in these parts but you should be able to tell if it's one because of the leaf being on the thick side (that is why they make a good bandage in an emergency).
I don't know what sweet grass is, but we have those clumps too. If you find out what to do with them (other than mow them over or kill them) let me know!

I don't care for Lambs ear, and kill it whenever it rears its ugly head... but when we first bought our place 4 years ago, the previous owner had it all over the place. We had a couple plants that were close to 3 foot diameter; with leaves that would rival a palm tree! 15+ inches long X 10+" wide. Only the odd one ever bloomed though, and it really isn't an attractive flower. IMO

It still grows wild in the bush around me, and it would be nice to know some properties, as them big, soft leaves would save a lot of dirty t-shirts and socks (ass-wipe)

Here is another plant that grows wild where I am but have no clue what it is either. All I know is it grows real tall and puts this flower out. The flower stinks but is unusually pretty. I hope it is something medical as there is an abundance of it.

This one looks like Joe Pye Weed. It is medicinal. Good for urinary troubles, it is also a nerve relaxant and an appetite stimulant.

Taz we have them all over our yard as well. They seem to be just a ground cover weed. They are pretty but make a mess in the yard along with all of the othe weeds!

This is a tree that is in Fla. I have no clue what it is except I think that it has a growth problem can't image that it is suppose to look like that.

I don't think this is red clover as it has purple flowers.

anyone have any idea on what kind of tree this is? I have never seen any thing like it. Might be a growth that has altered the looks of it. But it looks like the little one's growing around it is the same.

Not a plant but still need to know what this is. I say it is a sugar glider and dh say's it is a chipmunk. It has a long bushy tail but very small. I have tried to catch it in a trap but it is too smart for that. When we walk into the room it pops it's head out as if to say, "I see you, now where's my food?" it got into our wheat seeds. It eats the food in the trap without setting it off. I don't want to kill it, just relocated it

Not any kind of chipmonk that I've ever seen. looks like a mouse to me
This is what the little b'tards look like around here:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/Lorna514/animals/chipmonkwater.jpg

and before you start all the "awwwww, he's so cute" garbage... They're crack whores!

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o10/bcole360/chipmonk.jpg

try this...

get a 5 gallon pail, and put it somewhere convenient (for him) lean a board from the ground, or window sill to the bucket (over hanging the opening. smear some peanut butter on the underside of the board, over the pail.

when he tries to get at the peanut butter, he falls into the pail, and cannot get out. relocate at will.

slightly more lethal variation....

put 3" of water in the pail.

It is no mouse, It loves peanut butter and is now making a nest in the rafters. We thought we had the ceiling sealed off to avoid creatures getting into it but I guess we were wrong. Sniper when he goes to get the peanut butter wouldn't he hang on with his hind feet to keep from falling?

Sniper-T

he'll try to, and will be able to some of the time, but he will get careless and fall in. they always do in the end.

This log has a bright blue something on it. I think it is a fungus but don't can't find it on line. The log is close to the creek, most of the time in the shade and have not seen it anywhere else on the property. Any idea's on what it is?

The critter looks definitely like a sugar glider, a friend has a couple as pets, and while small, they are extremely agile. They are more jumpers than flyers.
