Hatched our first ducks and geese today. Still have a bunch left to hatch, and our turkey eggs should be hatching soon also.

Blah!!!

sorry dude, but I don`t know how you can do it. I will spend the next month discouraging Canada geese from making my yard home (with a 12 Ga). I HATE having my yard covered in shit all the time!!!

But I`m happy that the hatchings are working out for you.

Well since my yard is over 60 acres, I don't think a few geese will put out that much crap. I got about 70 chickens right now and it is not a issue.

I have 80 acres, and the geese that I have drop in, seem to have a propensity to shit on my beach. or on my steps, or on my paths... if they did their business away from my `fun zone` fine. they could stay. but they dont... so they add to my freezer!

Maybe domestics are a little better behaved!

Yeah, but yours come in by the thousands. I will only have a dozen or so. And I am sure they will spend most of their time by my pond.

We don't get any wild geese around my place, but I have seen the huge flocks of them out in west Texas.

You haven't lived until you have slipped in goose shit and landed on your ass. The problem is when they fly over, it is not just a little bit......... My truck gets hammered. Pull........

Sniper shoot one and send it to me I want a goose. Never had a Canadian Goose before. We have some around home but not where I can get a shot. I always see them in the parks.

Now that will take some doing... export permits, CITES permits, possession permits... Probably be cheaper and easier if you just came up for a visit and I'll cook ya dinner!

and yeah, the flocks are impressive to watch when they're coming in in the Spring, or heading out in the fall. a thousand birds to a flock, and hundreds of flocks a day, for weeks.

That's a lot of poop!

I would hate them too in those numbers.
