Just checking to see if anyone has heard from any of our family from Texas? They have had some severe storms around Dallas/Ft.Worth and some areas outside of that.
I've seen a post from IDTANDY on this afternoon, but haven't seen anything from AK47U or Helomech. I'm sure I'm missing some others as well.:confused:

Thanks for letting us know you are OK I D. Just got home from a 15 hr day and heard the weather on the way. Rushed in and shook my mouse on the computer and SHTF comes up just checking on you guys. My computer is always hibernating on this site.

BP have you been checking to see if the others are on line? Or can anyone call them?
Hate not hearing and having to wait and worry. Worring makes TAZ (@*&#^) Translation.....Crazy

I haven't saw any of the others on yet. I don't have contact #'s for any of them. Hopefully they'll be in here soon.

Really when you look at this it all seems so unreal... A semi trailer that looks like it was made out of card board. It kinda puts things into perspective doesn't it? I'm glade all it well with our ants.

I'm alive! I sent BP a reply PM, I was close enough to see the one that threw all of the trailers around like toys (1.5 mi) and took off north being chased by another one coming from Arlington TX/Cowboys Stadium area. Got home as the sirens started here, and went outside to watch and listen to the weather radio, one was reported 1.5ish miles form my place, so I grabbed the parents, and my son and we headed for the lower level of our parking garage (Rather be in a concrete coffin than a wooden one) we never got the one that was supposedly tracking right at us, but a rain wrapped popped up directly across the highway in Plano MAYBE 650 yds away, and roped out a weak little grey spaghetti noodle tornado for our amusement.

The new evac plan for Arlington TX is to go to the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium, they say the likelihood of a touchdown in that place is very remote. lol

didn`t they generate a whole pile of compost the last time it was used too? or am I thinking somewhere else?

Ak474u glad to see you and yours made it and are safe. We all worry about our fellow ants when there is bad weather in their area.

Definitely glad to see all of our Ants in the region are safe. I think situations like this are the exact reason we need to at least put together either a phone tree, or at least get contact numbers for each other. For those that dont know what Im talking about, a phone tree is something we use in the military to answer an alert. Basically the call comes down from higher ups, saying "we're going to war" and then it goes to unit commanders, who alert their battle staff, who in turn alert company commanders.. . who in turn alert their senior NCO's who in turn alert the troops. . .its basically a way for all of us to contact each other in case of emergencies or to notify each other that everything's ok if a local event does happen. Its not something that has to be made public, and truth be told, I wouldnt want my number floating out there in internet-land. . . but I wouldnt have any problem with a couple of members here having it as part of a phone tree. Food for thought folks.

Glad to hear from you AK.
Stormy i think MIT is working on a phone tree or similar. We have used one for years in our radio group and it has served us well.

The line that caused the Texas storms finally made it here last night. In a 2 hour period we had over 3" of rain, winds gust that were 45mph or better, and near constant lighting.

I was amazed and thankful that no one has been reported killed in the tornados. In a place that size and as bad as they were that is something.

Tis' the season here. We have more coming just in time for Easter. I drove thru the Arlington/Mansfield area yesterday for an estimate and they got whacked pretty good, it was an EF1 so not even that bad, but lots of broken window, no fences no trees, no garage doors, lots of room damage. Popo have checkpoints at every neighborhood entrance, and contractors have to register with the police to get in for work, which is B.S. since its a free country and all. I guess they mean well, but it definitely makes you think about actual martial law.
