The war has been declared, all snakes will be killed on sight. We lost a young turkey and a young gosling today to damn rat snake. We had them in this small cage inside our chicken coupe to get them used to their new home before we just released them. Well turns out that was not the best plan.

The turkey is in the snake, and the snake didn't eat the gosling, just killed it

A friend is going to give us 6 more goose eggs to try to incubate, but man this made me made. I usually let all snakes live, but now it is war.

hmmm... BBQ turkey stuffed snake? With a side of goose?

that sucks man! I'm quite sure if I lived down there, my wife would never leave the house.

Sorry to hear that bud.

After my first/recent snake incident all I can say in reply is "get some!"

Thanks guys, live and learn. Won't be putting any young birds in a cage where they can't run from snakes ever again. I have about 70 australorp chicks running around all over the place, would not have bothered me if the snake had ate one or two of them.

Thats sucks but at least you caught that dirty rotten full bellied turkey eater in action. It was a good photo opp though.

Kinda like this one but this ones eye was a little bigger than his body.

Anaconda that swallowed a gator that wasn't out of the fight yet, wasn't it?

Sorry to hear about your birds, helo. The type doesn't surprise me, though.

Nothing with "rat" in its name can be any good.

If I recall correctly.... Python vs. gator, gators claws acted like a can opener... no more python and no more gator...

Python had good choice in food though, Gator tastes good! :o

Actually, the documentary told a different tale. Seems like after he ate the gator, another gator decided to join in on the feast.

LMAO, well 3 of the copper heads don't really count since they came with the cinder blocks. We don't mind them much, as long as they don't eat our chicks.
