Some of you may remember my dog died after having puppies. Well here is a pic of the two puppies we kept. They are just over 3 months old and almost 50 lbs. The dog next to them is my Anatolian shepherd, she is a wonderful guard dog.

Those are some good looking dogs. So is your son. Easy to tell he spends lots of time with the dogs.

Thanks, yeah he sure loves them dogs. It still amazes me that they are 50 lbs at only 3 months. According to what I have read, most dogs are half their adult weight at 6 months.

They are beautiful dogs, and their color makes it look like they'll blend in well with their surroundings there ;) What a great trait for guard dogs!

I'm glad I don't have your monthly pet food bill!!!! LOL!
Beautiful dogs!
Was your Anatolian hard to train? I've heard that they are very "strong willed".

If you want them to guard they are easy to train. But they can be hard headed. They need a very consitent leader.

I was so happy you kept those babies...hard to believe they are so big already. Ours just turned one year old and are about 70 lbs for the male and 65 for the female. Our vet said that they grow until they are about 3 (and it is NOT as in months). Good luck with that! Haha!

Thanks Lady. Can't wait till the puppys grow up a bit. Puppies are cute, but can be a pain.

Helomech if you don't mind sharing, can you tell me where you or a good place to get the Anatolian shepherds from? We have decided after a long and hard decision to get that breed for our place. Have been looking at the great Pyrenees but they are high maintenance dogs. Anatolian shepherds are a very good all around breed of dog.

We got ours her from a breeder near Tyler Texas, not sure of her name, that was 6 years ago. I don't think she still sells them, but I can try to find out.

Here are some pics of 4 of the pups that we had. One we gave to my wifes mom and one to her brother.

Great looking puppies.

My friend had 2 Great Pyrenees, great dogs they ran and tended to 50+ guinea hens around the property. You could hear those hens from a mile away.I have German shepards, not the sloped backed ones they show but true German sheppards.

I have a blue heeler, Max (as in Mad Max). Great dog but small at 50 lbs. I'll be getting a Catahoula bitch soon to breed. Both are good herd dogs and not real high upkeep.
