In addition to my other jobs, I've been a professional photographer for 20+ years. Hundreds of weddings, grads, sporting events, family functions, promo, stock, magazines, newspapers, etc. I just got tired of it. It got to the point where I shot because I had to, and because I was paid to... not because I wanted to anymore. Now that I've been out of the business end for a couple years, it might be time to try picking it up for fun again.

Dude....I shot over 700 baby dolls for an insurance rider....I feel your pain.

Heck....most the time I keep a powershot in the car.....I use it more than the others....well....my phone has a rocking camera. Just harder to keep the lens clean.

They're Black Skimmers, About the same size as a gull and the lower beak is about 1'' longer than the top. They fly close to the water and skim the surface with the lower beak and scoop up the fish when it hits they're beak.

Assuming a SHTF scenario...

Shoot the buck, let the does go. one animal is enough to feed my family for a while, plus it is summer, and it will take time to process the meat (assuming no power for the freezers).

Assuming NOT a SHTF scenario...

Enjoy the show, think "good idea" and go grab some deer steaks from the freezer.

You can make dried jerky in all the cars sitting around doing nothing......pull the front seats....lay 2x4s from back seat to dash....yank all the racks out of stoves and refrigerators and put them in the car on top 2x4s...vent windows as needed to maintain temp.....field ready food dehydrator.

They are rain drops. It was the begining of a short shower and the camera picked up on the rain drops in the sunlight shining through the trees. the "effect" was totally unintentional.

It was started by fireworks and almost started a State Wide Band on ALL fireworks period for the 4th of July due to how dry it was.

A group of us who went on a winter FTX back in '09 or so. Family property of one of the guys up in the mountains, in February. Snow was close to a foot deep. I took what was supposed to be a rather high performance sleep system which failed miserably. Never been so cold in my life. The tent is mine, an old canvas tent I had bought from a friends dad. He and his buds used to use it in the 60s, so it's pretty old for a tent. I had the only vehicle that could get to the site, so I was voted Ferryman.
The other pic is the view standing in front of the tent.

Winter Hunt, 2010. It was to be a week of camping and hunting, but gale force winds from the north cut it short after about 3 days.
Same tent, but with an added tarp as a rain fly and porch. Snow came the day after camp setup.
There is nothing like sitting in camp with a warm beverage watching the snow blanket the woods, nothing.
The stream was directly across from the tent.

He told me most mornings, it would come up to the house and look in his window.

You know, just standing on all fours looking into a second story window.

If he finds it, and sends it to me, he has a pic of his Dad laying on one side of the antler, without any of his body hanging off either end.

This has to be in the 60s/70s and if I'm not mistaken I think those are Navy bell bottom trousers. :)

Well, that would be me. I just turned 18 then (not sure that I am 18 on the picture). And yes, me again on the right in the brown shirt. Thank you for the "handsome". I am blushing now.

The 70s is right, 1977 exactly. Navy is right too, but this were not my navy pants. We were already with straight pants. However these were the jeans all the youngsters were wearing at that time. Here we called them "Elephant Feet" jeans. Funny enough, I saw that they were doing a come back in the fashion world. The shoes were my uniform shoes though.

That was nothing but a misguided misconception of troubled youths, high on everything except life. Kinda like the resurgence of them now.

I remember those clothes very well!! And us girls wore 'hip huggers' with big fat belts and even would cut the sides of the pants up to the knee and insert a different color or pattern material wedge to make them even wider. We would always wear heels with them...it was the 70's! Everyone wore heels - even the guys, except being in Fl our other main shoes were flip flops (we called them flips) with a lightening bolt on the sides. We would get them from Ron Jon Surf Shop back when it was still a little shack on the beach. Those were the days.
You look cool RJ!

I gotta ask, have you tried this and does it work?
