August 2012 Thread of the Month Contest - LOOK AT ME

Alright kids....listen up and don't make me pull this car over!

We will once again be doing a Thread of the Month contest for August. Like in past contests the idea is simple. To enter.....create a thread anywhere in the survival forums (i.e. general discussion, medical, communications, food, money matters, etc). Threads in intel, stories, classifieds, ladies and town hall will not be considered. Threads from August 1st through August 31st will be entered.

It's really that simple.

At the end of the month RJ and I will chose a short list of threads that will be considered for voting. From there, YOU the members will chose the winners. We'll create a poll, you'll have a couple weeks to vote. That's right, you guys will have total control over who comes in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on.

It's really that simple. So put on your thinking caps, put together some ideas for thought provoking, conversation starting, idea generating and interesting threads. The idea really is to generate great threads that drive active participation.

Oh yea...one other thing. This time, instead of only the 1st place thread getting prizes the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will all receive prizes. How bout that? So more people have a chance at getting a little sumthing-sumthing for your efforts.

Yea...that's always a risk of announcing the contest prior to the start of August. Then again, if I put up a great thread July 30th and the contest was announced the next couple days I'd be pissed.

So use this time to your advantage. Flesh out your idea. Maybe take some pictures if the thread warrants it. Use the time to set up a test or demonstration if you're discussing a specific product. Maybe do some additional research.

I'd much rather have a somewhat slow week this week and have some great threads go up August 1st anyway.

Pick the predominate topic and place it in that forum.

If it is a more general post, that touches on a number of topics, then place it in the general discussion forum.
