Grumpy Old Man

I just found out from one of my buddies that another friend of ours lost his son in the 'Stan last week. I'm feeling kind of down as my oldest step son (USAF O4) is over there TDY (again) right now. This is consuming our best and brightest. I hate it!!

So sorry to hear this Grumpy.

Condolences will never be enough for those who have lost loved ones in battle. I just hope those who have been lost and their surviving family members understand the enormously deep gratitude most Americans hold in their hearts for those who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

May God's protection surround your step-son and return him home safely.

I'm so sorry Grumps. There are 2 things that make me cry...those damn Humane Society commercials and the loss of one of our brothers or sisters. After the pain of such a loss comes the anger at those who are on the other side all too willing to pull that trigger or set that mine with no conscious. I know healing will never come for the family for how do you fill such a hole left behind? I can only hope that the pain will someday become bearable.
Grumps and AK I pray that the Lord's hand will protect your boys and bring them home safely...both physically and emotionally.

It is always a sad day when another soldier has fallen. They are all hero's and to lose even one is too many. I for one pray for each of the soldiers to be safe and return to their families. So when one has fallen it is very hard. Prayers are sent to the families and to you Grumpy for your Step-Son. May he have God's presence with him watching over him and keep him from harm. May he return home safely to you.

I Thank the young man for my freedom and hope to see him one day. If it wasn't for young men and women carrying on the traditions of us and our fore fathers and mothers that served before then there would be no America, no freedoms, no illegal aliens, no Muslims trying to infect our American way of life. So however unsympathetic it might sound, I thank him for being the brave soldier that gave his life for my freedom. .................Me, I was not so lucky in my 22 years of service. I was never called to give the ultimate sacrifice. Thank his family Grumpy, I have the utmost respect for him and his family. To all ...............to all who serve, to all warriors, Hoo-Yah!

Be safe..............the night is your friend.

Grumpy

Sorry to hear this news. As usual I'm at a loss for some pithy words that will convey the heartache of the loss of a warrior.

My condolences to his family. He is in that place that all warriors who sacrifce for others go, in the hands of his creator. " For no great love hath man that he give his life for another."

Sorry to hear it Grumpy! Loss of a child is probably the hardest thing for a person to go through. Be strong for your friends!

I am so sorry, Grumpy.
I pray each and every morning for God to protect our warriors, and ask Him to comfort the families of the fallen.
Even though I personally don't know these fine young men and women, I weep for the families.

I'm just an old geezer, forgive me if I rambled, but in my heart I love all these men and women.
