I'm posting this discussion here due to not wanting to take away from Apssbc's AD thread and for now it is a local issue.

The local news had an article about the gas prices going up very soon. (one can assume that it might be due to the corn issues) The why and what for doesn't really matter. It states that we could be on our way to the $4.00+ mark. I know some of us may already be there but this is new to our area for now.

Has anyone else noticed a significant rise lately?

We have not seen a significant rise in fuel prices here as of yet but I am sure it is coming. Gasoline prices are tied to corn prices thanks to the idiotic government we have. When corn prices rise (regardless of reason) fuel prices have to be inflated to match so ethanol is still competitively priced with pure gasoline. The government has sank so much money into green energy. I. E. ethanol and bio-fuels in general. Our dumb ass leaders aren't willing to admit that ethanol is not a viable replacement or even competitive with traditional gas.

With that said, we can all expect an increase in fuel prices here in the next few months.

Prices here took two big jumps 2 & 3 weeks ago totalling $.25 . Since then its leveled off. I can see a large oncrease coming soon though. Just a matter of time.

Its definitely jumped here. I just paid $3.99/ gal. on my way into work today. I think its gone up somewhere between 30 and 40 cents from a week or two ago.

Wish I was more accurate, but I don't tend to notice the gas prices unless I fill my car up, and I haven't been driving it much this summer.

I can't believe you're paying more than us out here MITR! In a 15 mile stretch of road it varies from $3.65 to $3.79 for 87 Octane.

I didn't want to believe it myself, unfortunately I had little choice in the matter.
