Guys and gals,

I may be kinda sporadic on my forum attendance coming up.

Tuesday morning one of my kids is going in for, yet again, another heart cath. This one will be exploratory in nature to see just how much her artificial conduit has narrowed.
Initial imaging is putting it at around 80% narrowed, the cath will determine just how soon we go for her next open heart procedure. This will be her 4th open heart, I forgot the number of caths.

Vanderbilt should have a room named after us at this point.............

Will your families be able to be there with you as you wait? It is so terrible for a child to go through something like that especially since she is old enough now to understand that hospitals mean pain. May God bless her little heart...literally.

Ok.

Cath went well.

The conduit in question was 80% blocked.
Doc used a balloon to open it up and placed a stent.

It is now only 60% blocked.

All we did was buy some time.

We go back for an echo in 4 weeks to see if the stent is holding or if there is any narrowing going on.

She's definitely going to need another conduit replacement soon, we just don't know when. If we're lucky, we bought her enough time to make it till spring. I'm not holding my breath.

Typical 3 year old.........running around causing havoc. She's doing well, but we have to watch her and make sure she doesn't run herself to the point of collapse
