View Full Version : September get together.

LUNCHBOX
08-16-2012, 10:23 AM
Hey everyone,

Kodiak and myself have been talking about getting some of us together in September. We have both taken off the 21st and 22nd (Sept) to come to Tn. I am sending this now to some of you in hopes of everyone being able to get time off. If you have anyone else you think of in the area you would like to invite then go for it.

This is in by no means a Tn meet only. All are welcome. We are looking into a national park for the location. Myself or one of our "Colony" members in that area will post the new information as it comes in.

Sorry but the dates are set due to work schedules of myself and Kodiak only being able to get those off. Pm me if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Lunchbox

Might have to schedule something in march down here, or up there... depends on if I can afford the trip! I know I can't make it in September as school is starting back up... sigh...

Dang every time there is a meet and greet somewhere we are always far away. No matter what state it is, we either just left it or are going there later. Now if it was in OCT. or NOV then we might could but not Sept. sorry.

OK. Looks like I will be attending. Work's cool. HH6 gave it a green light. DOn't know yet, if she will be attending, but I will. Hopefully nothing crazy happens on the 4th when the little one goes to see her cardiologist. As long as he doesn't schedule an open heart, I'm good to go.

Would love to attend but sadly our national sales meeting starts 9.24. The big boss hasn't said it yet, but there's a very good chance he'll want us to come to HQ on 9.21 for the final planning/preparations.

At the very least, not sure I can take a weekend away from the family when I'm already going to be gone for most of that week.

Sorry I won't be able to make it but wish I could.

You ants be safe out there!

Don't worry Stig (next time for sure) and I am sure there will be pictures for all to see. Less than a week away, calls made, meal plans worked....now if we can keep Kodiak from snoring. LOL

Just great....Kodiak, BWRR13...how many other of you are going to be in harmony???? I need to put more ear plugs on my list. I got the bathrooms and showers covered but I didn't think about electric outlets for CPAP machines! Dang, just wasn't thinking right.
Will miss ya Stig! But ya'll don't look for any pics of me on here OPSEC and all. Don't want anyone to know what I look like. If you want to know what any of us look like I guess you'll have to come to our next meet and greet!

I will be. A slightly open window, the hardest rock/ metal station I can tune in, and some liquid cocaine (Rockstar Punched Energy Drink) should see me through ok.

I shouldn't have said I "didn't" sleep, but it was definitely broken and not restful.

I'm pumped up and ready to go. Sitting at work waiting is horrible.

MIT, wish I could remember the stations thru Ohio I pick up on our trips on I75. WEBN in Cinncinati I think is somewhere around 102.3 or .5 You can hit it just south of Dayton. There is another good one around Toledo, and Lexington ahs WKQQ

102.7--EBN, 104.7--TUE, both decent rock. If it to bad just give me a yell and we can bs for a few miles.

bacpacker
09-21-2012, 01:19 AM
I'm pretty sure Lexington is 100.1, k noxville you can hit 1-3.5, Crossville 105.7. No clue after that.

OK, LadyHK and I have been packin our butts off and gettin the pups ready as well, I'm lookin here and seeing everyone is online pretty much so here's some questions.
1.Can anyone bring something to wash dishes in? (pots and pans) We are bringing paper goods/plates and plastic utinsels.
2. We are bringing some heavy duty bug spray to secure your tent parameter.
3. Also FIREWOOD seems to be an issue right now. Guess we need to work this one out. My trailer is about full so I'll be RECON on the way up. I guess once unloaded I can make a run with the trailer to pick some up, the nights are going to be chilly.

Can anyone think of anything else???????
MIT don't get too wired and tired!

I'll volunteer myself as one for that, if at all possible. My set up is pretty minimalist and simple

LUNCHBOX

^^^ "minimal and simple"--I have 3 coolers, 2 large tubs, 1 full size grill and a then Kodiak says "maybe we should pack a small cooler for the drive down"

This should be fun......

Everybody bring a chair to sit in. I'll look for wood on our way in too. The state forestry department is trying to save the Ash trees (which there are quite a few around) from a Ash Borer. Kills the trees. If you see some purple boxes hanging in trees, that is a trap they set out to get count. As a result they try and discourage moving fire wood around from area to area. It helps the Borer spead faster.

Oh yes, bringing chairs, a canopy and a folding table.

I remember going hiking for the same amount of time with a pack and a walking stick.

I have one medium duffel, one small, my versipack, and a couple plastic grocery bags.

That ash borer is a nasty critter. Most of my firewood is thanks to its handiwork.

Should take us a couple hours to set up the "grills, tents, tables" but we'll be ready by the time you guys get there. Have not seen any input from Izzy, talked to him earlier today. I hope the little people are ok, I know they were sick with the fever and so was the Mrs. also left a message a bit ago, hope all is well. We should be there around 08-0900.
