We slowed down a little here this week, so one of my drivers decided to drive for a group to take generators to sell in LA........The business venture was a total flop, no one was buying, there still were generators on the store shelves....The issue was........ no one had fuel (gas or diesel) .......

Yes that is the case for every hurricane, that is why when I lived there I had over a hundred gallons of fuel on hand in gas cans, and had 150 gallons of diesel in my boat.

Having a generator and thinking you are GTG in a power outage.....is like having a gun and thinking you are safe....

You have to know what to do with it.....or they are just high priced paper weights.

The driver didn't carry a carpetbag with him, did he? Haha!

Pretty limited market I would imagine. Most folk can get by for a couple of weeks without power and not many folks these days can afford to plunk down a few grand right now for something they may use every few years.

Good info about the lack of gas. If they don't have a generator yet the they likely have not stored up 20 gals of gasoline either.

He called after I posted .......Going down ,they crossed the scales overweight ...They were allowed to venture on...............Crossed the scales on the way back, ticket for being overweight, LOL

This group supposely does this every hurricane season, this was the first time they failed to sell any generators.

There are gennys all over the classified here in my AO.....from the storm that knocked out power a couple months ago.

How about next time... 1/2 a truckload of Genny's and 1/2 a truckload of full jerry cans?? I would imagine that 1/2 the people had enough gas in their vehicles to get to the first or second gas station, but not much further.

Jus' a thought...

different DOT regs to carry any real amount of fuel.

Bummer deal, any chance on a good deal for a backup to my backup generator anytime soon?
