My sister and BIL sell books and other stuff on E-bay. They hit up estate and garage sales most every weekend. They brought me a couple of old book from the 1920, that have all kinds of stuff in them, setting up a homestead, farming, tool making, bridging, building shop buildings, etc. They were 2 of 12 in a box of books for $5.
I guess I need to get out and start looking.

Few weekends ago, Coleman propane lantern, heater, and 8 1lb bottles for $45. Both were unused in the boxes.

This weekend just a full set of SAE and metric Allen keys for $2.

Love flea markets and yard sales. I check craigslist for them every week.

Great stuff available if you don't let the outward appearance scare you off.
I picked up a Coleman 2 burner gas stove and gas lantern at a church thrift store for $1 (yes a buck) each. I felt guilty!

I got 4 Buckeye chickens off Craigslist for $25.00 cause the wife wanted them....2 cocks, 2 hens. 3 days later and 5 eggs so far. I am not to upset with the buy.

(She said she wanted the 2 sets so we could breed them in the near future)

I'm not familiar with the breed but with that production already you'll make your money back pretty quick.

I had never seen a garage sale where you could buy farm animals. Interesting.

Bacpacker, They are the only chicken breed that was produced by a female and they originated in Ohio (Buckeye name)--

RJ, She advertises on Craigslist for chickens, bunnies, turkeys and ducks. Not really a garage sale but I was pleasently surprised.

Hey now, leave the misses and her new cocks alone or I will tell her. Well, we had a big town garage sale this weekend. Other than having to put up with a thousand people it wasn't bad. I picked up three boxes of 9mm for $5.00 a box, like new Frog Tog rainsuit-$8.00 and a handful of fishing stuff for a few bucks. Very nice day.

MSR whisperlite stove and a Pur Hiker water filter. Both use just once, $20.

Heck of a buy carl. Those are worth $200 or so. I had a whisper light for several years. It's a good stove, it just was hard for me to regulate between a fast boil and a slow simmer until the fuel in the bottle ran down to half or so. Pur filters are very nice as well.
