Apparently in retaliation for shelling from Syria that struck a town and killed five. Here is a link

The shelling back and forth between Syria and Turkey has continued although at a slower pace. Turkish president has been very vocal that Turkey is ready for war if Syria doesn't stop. If that occurs the entire region could easily go up in flames and since Turkey is a member of NATO...yikes. Also the US still maintains a major presence at the airbase at Incirlik in southern Turkey.

I "personally" hated Turkey like most places in that region "filthy, stinks" but that's their way of life. However I support their descision. Strike back! They are taking in refugees who are fleeing a morbid death from a dictator. All there are doing is what is human. "De Oppresso Liber" LOng live the Green Berets of course they are not. But if they are fired upon for doing humane actions such as this I say fire back twofold make it hurt and make them think twice about doing again. ANNNNNNNNNNNNND NO! We don't need to be involved, we have our own to take care of here right now. Good post!...................... as I stay "unpolitical"

This is getting even more serious. The Turks forced a Syrian airliner to land in Turkey.

NATO has said they will back Turkey, which means us. They are moving up jets to within striking distance of Syria. The good thing is that the conscientious is that Turkey does not want to go to war. Sooooooooo we shall see what the next move will be.

I read a couple of articles yesterday about us having some number of ground troops in Jordan as well. I will try and post a link tonight. Some of them sounded like they were moved there from Iraq, but others sounded more recent.

Certainley an area to keep your eye on.

And all of this with 26 days left before the election. I'm sorry, I try to stay apolitical but I just can't. I don't believe in coincidence anymore.

The Turkish government is reporting that the Syrian airliner they intercepted was carrying military equipment in violation of international law. See the story at:
