Sewing machine

I'm looking for a sewing machine that is capable of sewing heavy canvas and swede.....codora and heavy nylon.

My price range is around $400 +/-.

I'm looking at a few Singer models... and have thought about a Yamata...but they are a bit higher in price that I'm looking to spend.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

See if you can find a used walking foot Juki. My sister thats in the sewing industry has found them for around that price used and abused, they're still great machines and after some TLC and adjusting they just keep on a running. The walking foot helps when your sewing multiple layers or folds in webbing or thick fabric. Brother is also a good one.
