Seizure

SO I was at work the other day with this really gnarly migraine. Next thing I know, I'm in an ambulance being taken to the ER.

Turns out, one of my co-workers found me on the floor doing the kickin chicken. I didn't go without a fight though, I took a lamp with me.

I've never had a seizure before in my life.

I'm hoping that it was a byproduct of my migraine and was triggered by stress. Never the less, We're not ruling out the possibility it is some residual side effect from my head injury I got in Iraq back in '08.

So far, all my tests have come back normal. My CT scan and bloodwork at the ER were good. I have an EEG scheduled for the 1st. Until I get cleared by a doctor, I'm benched. No driving or working until otherwise noted.

Guess I'm on vacation.

As for you and R.J. hooking up ; It'll probably be like Sniper and Grumpy at the Ant Saloon. I'm praying for the state of Tennessee and hoping there will still be a state after you 2 get done visiting.

The saving grace is that Sniper and Grumpy aren't there. otherwise all bets would be off. :p

i hope all is well with you and the cause is as simple as what you said, headache/stress/head injury. i am sorta new, but anything i can do, just ask and i will do my best to help.

as far as "buyin time" we just rent it. :p

head injury = headaches + stress = migraines = high blood pressure + stress + headache = seizures = kickin and a screamin, yep that was right on Q. Every thing will be fine with the right R&R, just make sure you do that and not take this time to stress about what is not getting done. Take care and prayers are sent for good test results.

Glad you're ok. Sure sounds like what the docs I saw at the Mayo called migraine alternative. Head trauma as a child (should have died ) I have had migraines (and the alternative)for 46 years now and feel for you. My prayers going out that it is not too serious and won't be a regular occurrence.

My daughter had a couple of seizures about 10 years ago. The doctor we took her to was one of the top specialist in the field and has since moved to Johns Hopkins. He told us that 20% of of the population has at least one seizure in their life. That is correct 20%. Most people may not realize it because they are small. He said that when it comes to adults it is something in their life that triggers them and it can be different for everyone. He said that one is not a problem in most cases. It is when you have multiple ones that is when you have to start taking meds. The meds worked for my daughter, she stopped taking them 8 years ago. Good luck

Hope you recuperate well Izzy. That is a sure sign from the body to take it easier.

I had just one migraine in my life and though there was no pain my vision doubled and narrowed for several hours. Lots of immediate rest and I was OK. Nothing since then. Funny thing is it occurred 3 months AFTER a huge prolonged stress project, not during it. We can't avoid high stress events but we can choose to be less worked up about it. I had to really ratchet back my aggressive ambition and life has been much better, especially with family.
