I'm surprised I didn't hear about this until now. To be honest, I am dreading the outcome. Chicago thinks they rule the state, and Chicago is against guns. Madigan's office threatened to publish a list of every person who had a FOID card in IL, including the address and what guns were registered, if we were allowed to carry. That would include every cop, making them targets. I'm sure the politicians will somehow work this to their advantage, like banning everything but .22's.

Unfortunately I don't think that would scare them, its not their money on the line, and it comes after the fact...

You probably haven't heard anything about how Chicago politicians are. Corrupt beyond belief. They get away with it because Chicagoans are either too stupid to vote them out or too lazy to not bother to vote. One day when you have too much time on your hands, Google how many Chicago pols have been in jail. You can start by reading about the race to replace Jesse Jackson Jr. I think 3 of the candidates are convicted felons. A little thing like privacy doesn't deter them.

I read yesterday that Cook County (Chicago & some suburbs) court has ruled that Armslist.com can be held liable for a guy buying a gun off their site and killing his ex-girlfriend. I'm willing to bet Twinkies outlive Armslist now. I'm also willing to bet that they will make it so that it is legal to carry a gun, but illegal to buy one, or make it impossibly hard to get one. Sigh.... I can't wait to move.

I live along the IL/IN border and it's not unusual for someone to forget to unclip their CW .... the local cops understand and I've seen them just check ID and see it trunk locked .... don't get caught by the IL State Police or anywhere in Crook County .... you got problems .....
