Hey good luck. Let us know how it is. I am to the point that taxes are just killing us. I do like our climate, if I could find something similar I would consider it. My son is looking at Texas because that is where the jobs are located.

The interview lasted 3 hours and some very positive "buy signs" were detected. I'm pretty sure I've got the job but I'll know more soon. But I do expect an offer.

As Yogi Berra said, It ain't over 'til it's over.

I got a call at 9:30 a.m. PST this morning and was offered the Qa/QC Manager's position with a ready-mix company in Texas. I got a package that was all I asked and then some, including a relo package. The Lord works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform! Prayers do get answered! So I'm going to give California the famous quote from the favorite son of Tennessee, Davy Crockett, " Ya'll can go to Hell! I'm going to Texas!"

Now I've got to go to Helo and beg forgiveness on bended knee for a mistaken dislike I gave. I'm really beginning to Dislike that dislike button!

God is working in my life! After 4 days I was pretty depressed today because I couldn't find a place to live. I f7und a home today at a bargain price. And they will accept Madmax, my blue heeler!! , I met a guy today that i clicked with and was amenable to me keeping my blue heeler. I got a home that is good for my dog and a landlord that will help me find a place for my horses. God has blessed me!!

I know I'm late in reading back postings, but ***congratulations*** and good luck in sunny Texas. I was born in CA. (Travis AFB) I didn't leave anything there but a foreskin and an umbilical cord, and as far as I am concerned, they can keep them, I'm not going back.

I had my horses health checked by my vet for transport to Texas yesterday and noticed the clutch on my 150 felt strange. Then I heard the squeal. LSS, my throwout bearing went. Unfortunately, the guy I used to go to was finally driven out of business by the state so I had to go to my buddy's shop. I had to have it towed to my buddy's shop for a slave cylinder/throwout bearing replacement. Not to bad a price on the part, only ~$130. But because it is a 4x4, 9 hours labor at $100/hr shop time.

Now the comparison. Doc's Shop, who rebuilt my Jeep J10 engine, had a shop rate of $75/hr and did great work as he was an old stock car racer on the southern California circuit. Cory's shop is part of a 9 shop corporation and has to support a higher overhead than an independent does. The state is driving the independent business man out of business. Anyway, but by 6:00 p.m.this evening I should be hooked up to my U Haul small trailer with my essentials loaded and headed out with Mad Max for the wilds of Texas.

This has now become a Quest!

P.S. Where is Helo now that I really need him?;)

Here

But all the work will be already done. I'd rather pay a friend than give money to a corporation.

Update: I went ahead and had a new clutch put in as well since the old one had 192,000 miles on it and the transmission was already out. I dont know if they had to drop the transfer case as well. When I could actually work on cars I never did have a 4x4. I guess I'll be working on the Jeep if I can find my old timing light.

I am not the best mechanic on cars, but I have a friend near Dallas that is great and cheap. He drives out to my my house 3 hours one way and fixes my car. Then we sit around and pour a few cold ones and chase hogs around.

The California land tries its best to keep the patriots in her borders, unfortunately the idiots running the state have so many morons on their side blowing so much hot air that the land loses the battle.
