Anybody actually have the burn time on cheap tea lights? I bought a bunch from BigLots and I'm assuming it's nothing special burn wise. I was hoping to actually get an answer on Google but it looks like I may have to sit and time the darn thing.

depending on the quality of the wax, you can expect around 4 hours.

I've seen as much as 6, and as little as two though. It really has to do with quality.

The cheaper ones vary between 1.5 and 2 hrs in my experience.

The ones I bought from Chinamart have 4hrs on the package.
I guess I need to light one up and see for myself.

I have the ones from WM and have tested them several times, average time has been between 1 - 2 hours

A friend of the Mrs., used to work for these guys:

a little pricier than WM, but an awesome product. These are the 6 hour ones.

best part, is we used to be able to buy old stock from her for cheap!

I get me in 100 packs at bed bath & beyond, they generally burn about 4 hrs. The key to burn time for me is putting them in a votive holder that has taller sides than a tea light holder. They seem to burn slower that way. A great deal of my emergency candle supply is tea lights.

You can look for the ones made for "restaurant supply".....they are of the 6hr variety.

I'm going to burn it tonight or tomorrow for sure. I'm in the middle of slaughtering my first pig.

Finally made it home last night and tested the tea light candle from BigLots. I was amazed at the results, 4 hours and 9 minutes. With the price I paid ($2.00 for a box of 27) you can't go wrong. Now I may just buy the 144 candle pack that they sell for six bucks. The mega pack appears to be from the same manufacture. http://s1.postimage.org/ixxoc1hyn/candle.jpg Brand/Box tested.

I was thinking how impressive it was that he was slaughtering a pig and posting on the internet at the same time.

"You da man !!!!!"

Still haven't lit up any of mine, it's just been crazy, with work (gunshop) and home.

I was taking a break. My buddy had me shoot the stupid pig 300 yards from the damn slaughtering table. Had to drag dead weight across his property. I was pooped!
