Wife got me some 7.62X39 ammo, and a new barrel and firing pin for my CZ-52. Parents gave me money. My 13 year old got a sig sauer misquito in 22 lr. Sweet little gun and with his money he bought a streamlight to mount on it. Oldest boy wanted money for car insurance so that is what he got.

Dh bought me an Excalibur dehydrator with all of the stuff I'll need to play - O2 absorbers, mylar bags, those sheets to use when ya want to put liquidiy stuff in the trays, a book ( but that's more of recipes to make with your dehydrated stuff and only a small section of how to dehydrate).
So, I will probably be bringing back the old dehydrating thread so Sniper and Evolver/JustA can school me along with anyone else who does a lot of this. JERKY HO!!!!!

I got one of those watt meter things to see how much the appliances pull for when I need to hook them up to the generator, you'd be surprised how much power things pull just plugged it and sitting there ( vampire ) , my Ryobi battery charger used to stay plugged in on the bench all the time, but I found it pulls 11 watts just sitting there plugged in, 60 watts when charging a battery for those who wondered, I'm sure I will run around the house unplugging a bunch of worthless things in the next few days

That is cool!!

I can think of a hundred places that a low profile gas can would be advantageous!

I'll be adding a two gallon water can to the right of the four gallon jug in the picture. They're a bit pricey but the modular mounting system is da bomb. And they're made in the USA.

Give em a look.

The only prepper related gift I got was a new road atlas. Everyone complained last year about the weird things I asked for, so I decided to just buy them myself. I didn't think that gas cans, propane tanks, and ammo were "weird", but there ya go.

I have had a etrex since they came out. That has been at least 9 years now and it is a great little unit. My screen is messed up but it still works.

The etrex is water resistant. Mine went underwater a few times. PS they don't float.

Would it be possible to split the case, pull the guts, and send only the plastic?

Don't know if this is true prepping but DH got me a Nexus 7 for reading my (as he says my weird) books and accessing the 'net. Other than that I got a $50.00 reward from work, Amazon card, so I spent some of it on canning jars and a couple more books.

Storm, those are freakin' awesome! And I bet it wouldn't be too difficult to whip up a pattern for something like this. If I wasn't so lazy, er, I mean so busy, I would totally look into trying that. I am filing that away in my mind though, a project for another day. Very cool....brilliant, actually.

Alas, I really need to get sewing some lined drapes instead. Sexy, I know. It will help with the heating/cooling cost, and make my husband feel like all the money I spent on fabric was somehow worth it. Poor man.

I didn't get any prepping related gifts. But, somehow Santa mistakenly had me on the nice list, the old guy must be slipping up. We ended up with a FREE 60" flat screen tv. Merry Christmas to me. I should be naughty every year!

I don't really want to talk about it....:).....but it's close to 1:1

Been a while since inventory.....but I got 6 lights for Christmas I haven't opened yet....and my Ontario RAK came in and had a bent tang....it had to go back...:(

We haven't even got in to talking about lighters yet.....

Gotcha. And I wasn't interested in hard numbers at all. I just knew you'd shown us a "couple" knives, and wondered if "as in a metric butt ton of em" was also fitting :D

Looking at them makes me want to visit my custom maker again.

Naw....I actually love talking about them......just if my wife ever got an actual figure.....bad things could happen...:)

Last count.....which was about 3-4 years ago.....93.....I'm sure it's well over 100 now.

Kitchen knives not included.....:)
