Found a new rag while grocery shopping today, it was $10 so I had to put it back... for now... but wanted to bring it to your attention.

I have picked up a couple of issues. Its a pretty good mag. Also found a new pulication of American survivor. Its a lot like the old ASG was.

Back in the day that was THE mag to have. I hated it went away. The new one I picked up is also named ASG . I'm not sure if it's ran by the same folks or not. I'll try and dig out an old issue and compare them.

I do know the content is very similar. I haven't gotten all the way thru it yet, but what I have is pretty good so far.

It's a pretty good every now and then Mag to buy and read, but it is just starting and not enough people are buying it for it to take off. You can't get a subscription to it or I would. Just cant bring myself to spend that kind of money on a mag every month. I find to many other preps to spend it on. Besides I get Mother Earths every month which is similar.

We buy The New Pioneer when we can find it. Usually have to go down to Huntsville but we always pick it up when we find it. It's been out a little while now. What gets expensive is all the shoot offs of Mother Earth News! They have these new "series" now so of course I have to buy all of them too, and Grit, and Hobby Farm, and.....yeah, you get the point. Arrrrg...there should just be a book. Or maybe an all inclusive movie :)

You must be too young to remember the American Survival Guide magazine.

Not too young, (52) just too naive at the time. I have since grown up and opened my eyes.

I like The Backwoodsman and The Backwoods Home. Both are very good reads and have a variety of how-to DIY articles as well as history. And Charlie at the Backwoodsman sells all manner of old carbon steel knives at reasonable prices. Both are very reasonably priced subscriptions. Links below.
