I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but it's where I thought it fit best. Mods, will you please relocate it if this isn't the right area for it.

I ran across this site today that has information from the University of Pittsburgh on a course in "Disaster Preparedness". I'm not sure I'm going to have time to take it going into spring, but I am going to check into it further. At first glance, it sounds like it would be very useful for anyone interested in getting involved in emergency management.

If anyone does get involved with this, please keep us posted on what you think and what you are learning.

Well, I finally got the email this morning saying this class will start this week. *Start rant* I was wondering if this was ever going to happen. I was also beginning to think I signed up for some government watch list. *End Rant and tinfoil hat off*

Syllabus is as follows:
Week 1: Introduction & Disaster Cycle
Week 2: Personal Preparedness Basics
Week 3: Personal Preparedness Safety
Week 4: Attitudes & Awareness
Week 5: International Perspectives
Week 6: Support & Medical Considerations

I'll keep everyone posted.

I am having to turn in a 20 page thesis on "How zombies are are good for us after all", so I guess I'm in. They sent back a list of videos to watch, and things to read.

Just finished all the week 1 stuff. Only thing I learned so far is that according to the instructor, "we are not normal people", wait a minute, I already knew that. Never mind.
