Found this link thru another website to NatGeo's Doomsdat prepper website, It basically allows you to rate your doomsday prepper score! Just a fun link that the "experts" get to tell you how well or how badly prepared you actually are! While not conclusive, it is fun! Give it a try, and post your Doomsday Prepper Score here!

And for the records. . . My score is 92

Water -16 (while I have Large blivets to store water, they are not currently filled)
Food -20
Shelter -20
Security -19 (smaller sized group versus large size)
X-Factor -17 (no long range commo, emp-proof vehicle or diesel fueled)

my score is 66

I think because I have no comms (don't really want any) no bug out plans ( I am not bugging out), and no safe room (hoping to have one some day).

20 on water

12 for food. Even though I have complete renewable food, and have been feeding my family for the last 6 years.

10 for shelter, I have a house, that is very defensible. I guess because I don't have a bug out location I got a low score. I am at my bug out location.


14 for security, I think this is because my family is only 4 people. But I would take those 4 over 20 untrained folk.

Exactly my point Helo, they dont seem to take into consideration all aspects, thats why I suggest taking it merely for the fun factor!

I lost points for not having a bunker or safe room...wtf....not having a BOL ( I live at my BOL ) , lost points for my smaller group not all being survivalists, JFC :mad:....and for my BOV not being EMP proof

no wonder I quit watching the show and always laughed when their " experts ( not ) " did their assessment ....# rolleyes

I got an 80, but similar complaints about the scoring. I got low on food because I store very little grain, for example. Don't need much, I'm surrounded by rice fields<G>!

62 here, where we got dinged the most is in shelter. Yes we do have a generator and fuel but we are set up just fine to survive with no "power/gas" of any kind. Hey we live in FL... :) Our biggest problem well be the security aspect because of us living in a urban area so I hope our recruiting some of the neighborers plain plays out in our favor.
