Prepper tip for the day:
I hope this might clear up some questions and give you the answers some might have been looking for for those of you on the hunt. The Govt. and their infinite paranoia do not want us civilians to have said items and have considered them "contraband" you might have found these items very hard to find. Be leary of what you are buying, you want "The Real McCoy"! Let me try to clear things up a bit with some "Governments facts" fight fire with fire so to speak. Also here's Igor's link.................http://www.liberatedmanuals.com/TM-5-1080-200-13-and-P.pdf

Here are some of the reasons why:
Lightweight and easily transportable.
Requires a short set-up time.
Provides cover, which may be otherwise unavailable,
Provides radar scattering capability.
Provides reduced heat signature capabilitiy.

Here are the NSN's to look for that are "radar scattering":
Desert, Lightweight, Radar Scattering, Type II,
(NSN 1080-00-103-1211)
Desert Lightweight, Radar Transparent,
(NSN 1080-00-103-1217)
Desert, Lightweight, Radar Scattering, Type III,
(NSN 1080-01-266-1825)
Desert, Lightweight, Radar Scattering, Type IV,
(NSN 1080-01-266-1828)
Woodland, Lightweight, Radar Scattering, Type II,
(NSN 1080-00-103-1246)
Woodland Lightweight, Radar Transparent,
(NSN 1080-00-103-1322)
Woodland, Lightweight, Radr Scattering, Type III,
(NSN 1080-01-266-1824)
Woodland, Lightweight, Radar Scattering, Type IV,
(NSN 1080-01-266-1827)
Snow, Lightweight, Radar scattering, Type II,
(NSN 1080-00-103-1233)
Snow Lightweight, Radar Transparent,
(NSN 1080-00-103-1234)
Snow, Lightweight, Radar Scattering, Type III,
NSN 1080-00-266-1823)
Snow, Lightweight, Radar Scattering, Type IV,
(NSN 1080-01-266-1826)

Here are the visual characteristics to look for when you find one in case you don't find the NSN attached:
The radar scattering screens are designated as Type II and are identified by a rectangular tag attached to the
screen at every other corner. Information on the tag will identify the screen as
woodland, snow, or desert. The radar transparent screens are designated as Type
I and are identified by a 5-sided tag attached to the screens at every other corner.
Information on the tag will identify the screen as woodland, snow, or desert.

Happy hunting!..........Oh,......Uh......Happy Hiding!

Took awhile to find the one's that I "might" have. I've seen some out there but they are of the non-radar scattering type. I guess they're worried about the pot growers buyin'em............uh, yeah.............maaaybe? Or Joe citizen hiding from the government when the SHTF? Maaaaybe? he, he, he...........guess they never should have put it out there in the first place. Good luck, but If I see any, I'll PM ya.
