On sale for $36.99.

No idea if that's a good price or if this is a good product but given the flooding out in Colorado it's probably a good time for all of us to reconsider our water filtration capabilities.

I have one of the original models. I think they make 3 models now. I have used it a few times with good results. It does require batteries. I like it ok, but have decided to go with the Sawyer brand. It now is a back up along with my old Pur backpacking filter. I trust it more than any, but it is heavy and can be stopped up easily. The sawyer seems to be the best all round.

Thats a good pen and a good price. Google is your friend for reviews, details and information. Worth the investment.

Personally, my first go to is my MSR MiniWorks filter, it not only has a ceramic but also a carbon filter... Water out the pond or stream taste like natural spring water.

If concerned about viri, I would use the MSR, and then add bleach and/or SteriPen.

Ive talked to some hikers on the AT, they used the Steri exclusively for an entire through hike and never got sick. That is user testimony worth noting.
