on one hand i say, shut it down, on the other i'm thinking, what if this one is the one that starts the domino effect? we all know it's coming, yet we also know there will be some really hard times coming.

Yea, now would be a good start I think. Let those that arent prepared go down with the ship, the rest of us, well, we will rebuild after the rest is gone.

Shut it down, and leave it down. I sure wish Texas would secede.

Send your bills to Obama, he doesn't want to compromise, you shouldn't either. I say bring it on. I'm living on Social Security and a military pension, I'll be more then happy to tell my creditors my government has the money call them to collect.

Yesterday in an address in Maryland, our 'fearless leader' let the other shoe drop so to speak. He let slip that in a debt ceiling was not changed social security recipients would get there checks late if at all. I'd be willing to bet he and the congress will get their checks on time however. Maybe it is time to let the administration know that they are "non-essential" personnel. Anybody who can take a five week vacation before a looming budget deadline they know is going to be contentious, are not worthy of representing 'we the people'.

If this surpasses the debt ceiling date we are in for an interesting end of the year...

on a side note, anyone hear of the self-immolation on the national park?

Saw the story, apparently , he is still alive. Some joggers passing by tried putting him out with their t-shirts. No info yet on why he did it, or who he is.

The Administration has sunk to new lows when it comes to government shut down. The following open air memorials have been shut down WW2, Iwo Jima, and the Viet Nam Memorial. Park police are reported to have actively forced vets to leave the Viet Nam Memorial.

Stories here:http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/iwo-jima-memorial-closed-barricades-erected_759277.html and here: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/nbc-police-remove-vietnam-war-veterans-memorial-wall_759267.html

Here is the topper however: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/10/05/Feds-Try-to-Close-the-OCEAN-Because-of-Shutdown

But this has nothing to do with politics, in a pigs ass it doesn't.

I was listening to a radio interview yesterday. There was an honor flight out to the WW2 memorial the day after the shut down. A reporter asked this 91 year old vet what they would do if the group got there and the memorial was closed off.

His answer:
"normandy was closed when we got there, too."

Good God..... What a difference between his generation and mine.

Here in Arkansas they have shut down most of the wildlife refuges during bow season. There was no reason to do that other than meanness. Game wardens patrol the refuges and are state employees not federal.

Things are about to come to a head friends. It could very well get nasty real soon.

I hadn't saw it posted. But I read yesterday about a 70yo couple ran out of their paid for house that is located inside park service boundry. Boat docks being pulled in to prvent use on lake mead I beleive it was.
They are pushing hard to get something started so they have an excuse to open up. More shit is coming out on a regular basis and the money being spent to enforce this shit is huge. Much more than just leaving stuff alone would be.

I heard that too BP. 80 y/o man and 77 y/o wife kicked out of their home. Closing off roadside stops and open air monuments is just to piss people off to get it in the news since the shutdown really hasn't had the impact on the average American the dems had wanted.

Exactly. They're trying to make the shutdown as noticeable and painful as possible so the average citizen can actually see how much we NEED the federal .gov to keep us all warm and fuzzy and stuff.

Super dick move.
