We are headed to San Antonio this afternoon to watch my son graduate from Air Force basic training. I am so proud of him. It is weird not having him around. Luckily my father in law is going to come and stay at the house while we are gone, if not one of us would have had to come home after a day or so. Probably wont be on much for the next 4 days or so.

Congrats to your son! Enjoy your time on base as well but watch out for the jack rabbits. I went to master at arms school on lackland. Those big assed jack rabbits down there are mean! Not scared of humans at all. You try to pet one though and they will tear you a new one.

LMAO, it is a 4 hour drive for us to get there. Funny we don't have any jack rabbits here, only the cotton tails. I guess we are too far east.

If the jack rabbits attack, just use your "Lackland Laser". Somebody here is gonna get it.

Haha. I haven't thought about the "lackland lasers" in years. I remember seeing airmen with them just before day break, finally making their way to the grinders as we were finishing up our morning PT.

My brother in law was a MSgt drill instructor at Lackland for 24 years, he used to get them for me when I was a kid. Anybody that went thru basic up until 02' probably met him.

Won't know till he is half way through his school.

We had a great time, did sea world, go kart racing, shopping, movies and ate a lot.

Congrats to your son and you and all your family. I want to thank your son for choosing the path of a patriot we thank him for filling our boots. These boots are old, they smell they're cracked, split and moldy. The soles are worn from many a muddy weary mile, yet they never wore out. These boots will fit your son as they fit me.......... as fit Izzy................ as they fit Eagle........... Eleven Bravo ..........Stormfeather............... just to name a few here. They're comfort, they're home, they're your support when your son gets to feeling lonely and down. Just tell him to look at his boots. We'll all be there looking right back at him. We'll always be there to support him.................I'm proud to welcome him aboard, HOO-YAH!

I loved my Boots.........

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY ALL!

Cool, post. Thanks. He comes from a long line of military, both me and my wife, almost every male in my family, and lots in wife's sided the family. Me and my wife where both Army, but thought with his personality would fit Air Force better. My youngest son is also planning to join when he graduates high school.

My dad, my 2 brothers, Grandpa, his brother, both uncles, my other grandpa's brothers (Nazis, but that's another story)........yeah no matter how FUBAR this country is I still love it and I won't give up on it and I'm grateful for those who will stand up for it, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Thank your family for me. If it wasn't for them I couldn't have my chance either.
