Do you think I could take the canned chicken noodle soup I have from the store and recan them in glass jars? I have a lot of them and they are getting close to their expiration date but thought if I could can them it would extend the lifespan. Thinking of doing the same thing to Beef A Roni too?

@ladyhk13 .... You could do that. But really, I'm not sure you need to. Even 'close to expiry' is still a ways off from being bad (unless the cans are dented.) unless they are already years past due

Don't bother Lady. Canned food does not go bad, it only looses some of its nutritional value over time, and it takes a long time. The date only represents how long the food in the can will match up to the label as far as nutrients go. But the food does not become bad. Re canning the food will only expose the food to bacteria again, and make it mushy from being cooked to many times.

Was just wondering because some of them are taking on the flavor of the can and non of them are dented.
