I've got one, not that cool, but its a stone fire pit. I use it pretty often. I even bought a nice grate at cabelas that I use for burgers, and brisket. Mine is the perfect size for putting a large galvanized wash tub over to create a smoker. I push the coals to one side, and put the meat as far away as possible. I get a pretty good result. When we work outside in winter, we usually throw some scrap wood on it to go warm up. It's not really a post shtf daily cooking option due to smoke production, and you can probably smell my brisket all the way to the highway.

Very nice, I really like the craftsmanship and the arched air ducts to fuel the fire!

Very nice. We just have one of those metal bowls on legs.
Works, but not nice like that.

I just have a bare spot in the field. But the length of the log don't matter. :)

RJ,
Any updates? have you had any 'big' fires in it? crack many rocks?
