16MAY14 is the day this thing is supposed to kick off. I'm not posting this for political debate, right or wrong, etc. My concern is there have been numerous "unusual" activities going on throughout the country. U-2 spy plane shutting down LAX, cyber attack here in Bucksnort, TN, TX, "CIA" weapons cache revealed loaded with AK47s and RPG-7s, Obama's comments at the White House correspondence dinner, (pretty FUBAR), Hmmmm? Blah, blah, blah, taking off my tin foil hat now. I know that OAS (Operation American Spring) is not going to get the 30 million people to turn out like they hope for, but they have a plan/SOE and ROE. They are not going to leave, they are staying put. No one has done this move yet. My biggest concern here is the "other side" the lefties, the govt. Who will they plant to incite the riot/spark to the flame? Who's going to be the "Lee Harvey Oswald" in this one? OAS's goal is a peaceful one but firm. I know they will not succeed in ousting the top five office holders but I give them my support. I'm pretty damn sure we are going to have an "incident", one that will cause something major. Now what, I don't know but we had our little Bundy Ranch incident and that's not over yet. So what's going to come out of this, again I don't know, but us ANTs need to keep watch on this.
Back to my question, are you prepped up? Are you ready for say Martial Law? Government crackdown, loss of internet, alternate comms? All the things we talk about on here on a continuous basis? This little outing planned for the 16th could be the incident to cause a major disruption in our lives. It may be subtle at first, but speculation of course, it could be just the thing this idiot has been waiting for to do what he's been wanting to for a long time. Crown himself KING.
Now again I am not posting this for political debate, this is for preparatory discussion. There are many scenarios here to be derived from this. So again are you ready for something to happen in the next 20 or so days? Will you be caught with you pants down? What if this OAS causes martial law in DC and then causes wide spread pissed off Americans and then Martial Law goes Nation wide? Are you prepared for this to happen? Got gas, diesel, sugar, flour, etc..........? Hmmmmmmmmm?
OK, let's keep this with in the rules of the road, this should be tough........

I am about as ready as I can be for now I guess. Just need my solar system and that will not happen this year probably.

I am right in the middle of my spring rotation of fuel. I will have that done by the weekend. 90% of my garden is in. Got a couple of projects to finish. Them my new HF antenna is going up. That will not be done on time however. Food and supplies are about as good as they will be for now.
We shall see where this AS goes. Hopefully better than the ones in the mid east has. I just have to wonder where Russia/Ukraine fits into this mess. That and Kerry calling Isreal an a partied state.
Keep your heads down and powder dry.

I feel we are "stocked" and have most of what we need, but then we will never have enough. There is much to do and I will never have done it all if and when it happens. So are we prepared? Uh, never, but we will survive damn it! So I guess I need to make sure the kids get informed and are up to speed. From there we wait and watch and plan for contingencies. Time to fire up the bull dozier..............

Ironic that you post this River Rat. B.P. and I phone chatted today. We talked a little about this and we seem to agree that this is a mess waiting to happen if not controlled or watched closely.
Yet there's nothing we can do for the moment but hope for a peaceful gathering.
As for the wife and I not much mobility unless all hell breaks loose. Resting from hernia surgery April 28th. and wife from 911 ride to E.R. for severe chest pains . We are only stocking enough to go mobile at this time in case we have to leave. Where we go is still up in the air. Hopefully we have enough time to move everything We stock piled so as not to lose too much.
We'll never be completely ready but we'll do the best we can with what we got.
P.S
I'm jealous ; You got bulldozer. :p

Eagle, you two need to heal your butts up. I'm not going to ask how you got the hernia (chuckles). There are too many scenarios at play here lately so my head starts to spinning, OAS not your hernia........I need to check the local price of propane and get my 100# bottles filled while I'm at it. As for the bull dozier, I had that brought back from the other property till the law suit is over with. Been using it here now and then. Nice of Stormy to offer up his digs to ya'll seeings he was kinda close by. Hoo-Yah brother!

Thanks for the offers guys ; appreciate it. Sweet-thang can't take cold weather after open heart surgery so we keep her near heat during colder months and select days for her to venture out complete with blankets and such in vehicles.
My hernia was there for awhile and decided to get it fixed so as to be in better shape down the road. Was keeping me from getting in heavy work and building up more muscle and stamina. It's all good just a part of getting older. Now we can begin finishing up projects so we can make the big move hopefully next year sometime.
River Rat hope you come out on the good side of property dispute. That was a fine looking piece of property.
Stormy you're more than generous my friend. My strange sleeping habits would probably get me in trouble. ;)
I've only cat napped for the last 40 some years while checking out house at night. One of those habits you can't break.
B.P. you can trust me in your garden ; I know how to work a hoe ; I think. :D

From our talks I think it's safe to say you can use a hoe.
Glad you two are getting along better. Real glad to hear your report about your sweet Thang yesterday. Sounds like things are turning around.

I'm nowhere near prepped the way I'd like to be. But I do worry that an American Spring would give them a perfect chance to false flag us. They've been hyping American born terrorists for years, and they might bill an AS as a terrorist act. Perfect storm if ya ask me.
As for the groups and subgroups involved in the AS planning as it were may already be co-opted. If some of the groups as a whole aren't COINTELPRO. The whole thing stinks to high hell.

My main concern is the uncertainty of it all. I don't know what to expect.
Do I think they will get the numbers they are looking for? no. BUt I do think there is the possibility for a large showing. At which point, just as others have pointed out, anything could happen.
I'll be out of town for this, and I can't take my rifle............

I have a Nam brother who's going to be there. He's leaving today to set up entry & exit routes ; plus leaving vehicle outside D. C.
Will walk in and out in case of trouble. If I get updates I will pass along to colony.

There is an OAS website for others to keep tabs on as well. It kicks off tomorrow...........long pause. Kids have their packs so I'm happy about that now to keep them up to date. I just have to keep a watch on things and hope nothing stupid happens. But then that would would be stupid to now wouldn't it?

Well here's an update..........the live feed this morning was knocked out just as the Col. was about to speak. There is no coverage, and everything that has been said so far has been negative BS small time media on the internet. I'm still trying to find coverage and there is none what so ever...........SURPRISE!

Got a call about 12:51 today and Bro. says the crowd is pretty small . They talked to some people who said more are on the way in so he'd take a wait and see position. Guess they had a bad storm last night and something about flooding in command area and a lot of people relocated.
The guys are going to keep in touch as I told them there's no coverage I can find. Told him it's as if there'e a media blackout.

Been meaning to get back here after last talk with Bro.
Talked with River Rat and gave him what I was told. Had to squelch a family member uprising the hard way and needed a few days to clear my mind.
1- Brother said maybe a little over 1,000 people showed up. Hard to tell because they were so fragmented. Scattered across various locations and no one seemed to be in charge of merging said groups. I guess this was even after Colonel Riley spoke.
Said there seemed to be no command structure to bring everyone into one group before or after rain to at least try and deliver their message.
2- Said a lot of people spent time in front of video camera speaking instead of organizing. Some people multiple times ; as if to get their 15 minutes of fame instead of uniting into one mass no matter how small to show their bond against this government's policies.
3-Only saw the Texas militia contingent with boots on the ground. The rest of the so called 1.8 million militia who stated they'd show up in force were nowhere to be seen.
4- He spoke with Colonel Riley and told him that in his opinion he had been had and that those posting on his web site with bravado were just that. ( Arm chair warriors ) Told him that with all due respect that O.A.S. let their plan be compromised and that the government will now believe that all patriots are weak and will do nothing of a signifigance against them in the future.
Riley agreed and stated more or less somebody had to start the ball rolling and he had hoped for a better outcome.
5- Bro. was told that while the Colonel was in D.C. that his wife was having an amputation on one of her legs ; but they both felt this mission was important. If story is true ; then as my bro. says they're truly Americans first . But we'll both wait and see what washes out on this.
My conclusion on this is:
1- No true & trusted command structure
2- Too much public information given out
3- Will wait to see why promised 1.8 million militia were no show.
4- government trolls & disinformation were in play.
5- Riley has lost all credibility due to this cluster ---- & will most likely be persona non grada from here on out.
No matter how well intended.
6- Any future gatherings should be conducted with total O.P.S.E.C. on a need to know basis. Any future gathering should be conducted in the darkest confines possible with only those truly willing to go forth. But just like battle you never know until that moment of truth when you're given the order to deploy.
7- Assets should be put in place secretly ahead of time so as to ensure people have what they need for the long haul. All must contribute as to state we are in.
8- A council with 1 chief and many braves.
9- Do not say when you're showing up. Quietly build up the numbers over a few days as not to give them too much advance notice.
This all I can tell you and conclude on my own. I know I've probably left things out in my conclusions so feel free to educate this old boy if I have.

I have many things to say and nothing to say at all if you get my drift. Just major disappointment really. Was waiting for that "hopey changey" thing. That spark to the flame, but it was canceled due rain and lack of participation and............so we're fucked until then.

I may be the sole contrary voice here, but I am not too surprised by this. I personally think more people have a romanticized fantasy of confronting a corrupt government than an actual will to do so. For this and other reasons I am glad it didn't get large or ugly enough to spawn trouble.
Dissent is a minority opinion, born of apathy to be true, but a minority opinion nonetheless. I don't think our circumstances lend themselves well to such actions yet.
I think local actions with an eye toward national change would be a more realistic approach, and more in line with our ordinary priorities in emergency prep. I'm willing to bet few of those 1.8 million no-shows have any more desire to participate in their local governments than they did to travel to DC. It doesn't fit the fantasy of being Benjamin Martin re-incarnte, though he was originally portrayed filling such a role...
If I'm not mistaken people are at odds with the freedoms we are losing. As preppers we could be leveraging change in our favor, if we just put forth the effort. Consider the ordinances against livestock in many cities. It hurts nobody, yet is forbidden. Restoring such freedoms is the context and perspective I'm speaking in right now.
How many politicians in DC did not make a name for themselves in their localities? Leverage change locally, and it will extend to the state and national scenes over time. Similarly, if parents were more vocal in school votes and over curriculums, the atmosphere there would change.
In the meantime I think we should be planning and prepping to thrive under any circumstances, and I for one hope to avoid cutting that process short if at all possible.
And that, truly, is my only personal concern with politics these days. Adapting to how they change. I admittedly need to do more to leverage them to my own benefit whilebai still can, but it is the course I prefer nonetheless. The alternative would be a nightmare.
ETA: I am once again trying to trying to convey some deep, personal opinions on a substandard communications vehicle, whilst also forgoing sleep in its favor. Let me know if I goobered anything up, please.

I'll counter that thought with a mention of the historical tendency of "dissenters" to perform in a clandestine manner for a significant period prior to outright conflict tween the government & the governed. The general population hasn't been pushed far enough yet... and will likely either never be or by the time they are, will have no teeth.

Agreed. That's a large part of why I think as I do. I couldn't tell you where I'll draw my own line, but I do know I'll likely have to live and operate under sub-optimal conditions before I reach it. That's part of prepping though.
