Short hike, tomorrow were taking the stove and fixing Raman noodles on the trail, practice fire
starting, etc..

My printer is out of color ink else Id have a topo of the area (NatGeo Topo! software) and
I could start teaching land nav with map and compass.

What a great Father's Day present! I did notice yoe were packin' the heat and she was packin' the comms (in pink). Ya gotta cherish those memories.

I also had the Wouxun VHF/UHF radio, all the local repeaters.... it is my ECOM radio, has FRS, GMRS, MURS, etc.. etc.. etc.. I could only hit one repeater, I should be able to do better if I hill top. A roll up J-Pole in a tree might be an asset too.

I always pack heat in the field, it would suck to need it and not have it.

A roll up jpole will add a lot to the ht. Just remeber to take enough coax to get the antenna up high enough. And 550 cord.
