So a buddy and I went out to a little muddy pothole behind his place just before dark and had a blast (literally). Heading out again tonight, so I'll try for some pics.

They're bigger than a hummingbird, but not by much. Think 'robin' need a handful for a meal, or just a couple as a nice appetiser.

ST you need too plan a trip here. i can put you on a pile of those little buggers. same bird, just a little bigger, not by much, just healthier. it would entail a boat ride and a nice walk. worth the trouble.

it's a standing invite. i may not be able to get away, but definitely welcome here.

bait gators? what? they lay on the banks down here. don't have too look very far nor hard for them. last time we went, we got an 8 and an 11 footer. been several years ago. it's not like you see on tv, we don't wrestle or play with them. maybe a hook and a .22 pistol or a compound bow and a float.

i've been known to swim with them, well in the same body of water and could see where they were . if you want to wrestle with 1, we can find you a suitable mate. just know, when i think i've had enough, i will shoot it or you, which ever is hollering the loudest... :p

Slow night last night, heavy overcast/rain. They didn't start flying until the last 2 minutes of legal light, and only one presented itself... Made for a nice appetizer tidbit before a ground goose meat and wild mushroom pizza.
