Mrs. Sniper and I are tossing around the idea of heading down in April... Anyone in the vicinity up for a meet and greet?

Sure....go to NV and don't pop over to TN to see your besties who will feed ya'll and give ya a free place to sleep. I see how you are. You just don't want me to finally meet the missus. :/

Keep browsing... there's another thread that I suggested talking the Mrs. out of Vegas and going to Tennessee instead...

The appeal for her is $70. airfare to Vegas, vs. $600 to TN.

We'd be flying. $68. seat sales on now

Depending on what the I93 is like, it be less than 12 hour drive to Boise... Where are you?

Yeah and no... cheap to get there... expensive to be there! We don't gamble, but she has 5 shows picked out and at an average price of $175 USD per person.... it's no longer a cheap getaway!

don't compromise opsec... but what major city are you closest to?

5 shows! Oof. It is definitely easy to spend down there. I like to sit on the cheap slots and just get the free drinks. $5 BJ if I feel lucky... Talk about a cheap buzz.

I'm a few hours east of Boise.

I just got back from being down there last week. We're on the West Coast and can't get it for that cheap, that's just wrong. I had to drive to save on expenses. However my trip was much more cheaper since I didn't do any shows. Your going to 5 shows, well that is only a grand you have to spend or then you could stay home and buy another toy. My wife would tell me to do the same thing......

Sniper,
If you can talk the Mrs into it, check out the desert and the petroglyphs and tread where Kirk and Picard stood. It's spectacular, (especially at sunset,Hint, Hint, nudge, nudge.)

Sunrises/ sunsets are always #1 on our lists... always! ;)

great reminder... but too bad she is as far from a trekkie as R2D2. So the symbolism would be lost, although the beauty of the location would turn out to be a happy time for both of us! ;)

Da Hubs and I went out there with my sister and her significant other one year while the boys were in college. There are walking paths, just be careful of the sidewinders, DH almost stepped on one, I saw it moving ahead of him on the path and yelled stop.He was wearing his tennis shoes, not much protection. He was looking at the petroglyph's and didn't see it. I also inadvertently took home some sand in my boots from the sight they shot the scenes with Malcolm McDonald, have it in a little container now with the rest of my Trek memorabilia.
