I've seen a few movies/books that touch on this, usually in a catastrophic manner, and it got me thinking. If something happened, and my location becomes say 'equatorial' How would my preps fare, and what would I be lacking in.

Needless to say, I would have to either sell my snowmobiles or mod them to run on top of water... lol, but more importantly, all the time and effort I have put into winter preps, clothes/vehicles/shelter would all be moot.

I could also see my water needs changing dramatically. Currently most running water around is potable without treating, except in the dead heat of the summer. Given sustained high temps, I am pretty sure the once clean water would be swarming with disease, therefore, I don't think my water treatment would be suffice (might need to buy a couple more kat filters anyways) I can get used to and enjoy working in the heat, but my wife would need a steady supply of sunscreen just to survive, and we would be lacking there.

I think most of my seeds would be suffice, even though they are cold tolerent, they do like the dog days of summer just fine. I'm sure I am missing more, perhaps some of our southern folk can add...

How about you folk? What changes are you and are you not preparred for?

Save the -10000F and +10000F scenarios that cause you to instantly freeze solid and shatter or turn to dust like a vampire in the sun; just a significant 'change' for better, and for worse.

i am 120'+ above sea level, so good there. enough potable water around. the winters have been getting milder here, not as many cold days or freezing nights for that matter. all of my fruit trees are going stupid. blooming way too early. garden wise, i will be fine. i added a sprinkler system in it winter before last. the thing that bothers me, with the mild winter, comes a summer that is hotter than two hells.

can't say i am not prepared for it, just not looking forward to it.

Give in this one some thought before I jump in. I have read some on this topic. Never really found a huge amount on this area. Not sure if we would tend to go hotter or colder. Colder I suspect.

if it does anything here, it's getting hotter. not really concerned with the cold coming. the Poles would have to reverse. not going to happen in my lifetime. thinking a bit more, i guess hotter means more evaporation of said water supplies, might need to act on that one.
